🌿 COMPLIMENTARY CHILDREN’S SHIATSU CLINIC 🌿
Children navigate a lot these days — What if a little time to pause, relax and reconnect with their bodies could make a difference?

Shiatsu is a Japanese bodywork therapy that is done fully clothed and uses gentle, comfortable pressure and touch to support relaxation, body awareness and a sense of wellbeing.

✨ Why might you consider shiatsu for your child? It offers a chance to slow down in a busy world, provides gentle support for relaxation and settling and supports body awareness during periods of growth and change.

Every child is different, and shiatsu isn't a one-size-fits-all approach. Our clinic offers a welcoming opportunity to experience this traditional Japanese therapy in a gentle, child-appropriate setting, with parent or guardian involvement and consent.

When: Oct 22nd, 4pm, 5pm, 6.30pm
Where: The Living Centre, East Melbourne
Suitable for 6-17 year olds
Bookings: https://shiat.su/paediatrics-clinic or go to our website

Kaizen: The Art of Continuous Growth in Shiatsu Education 🌱

In Japanese philosophy, Kaizen means continuous improvement — the belief that meaningful progress comes from small, consistent steps.

At Australian Shiatsu College (ASC), this philosophy is at the heart of our approach to Shiatsu education. Rather than rushing towards a finish line, we encourage students to embrace each stage of their learning journey. Every technique practised, every client treated, and every insight gained becomes an opportunity to grow.

Whether you study with us through an 18-week intensive program or a two-year course, the goal isn't perfection. It's a commitment to continual learning, mindful practice, and growth — both as a Shiatsu practitioner and as a person.

What if movement itself could become a form of medicine?

Join Bill Palmer & Teresa Hadland as they explore Bill's new book 'Secret Society of the Body' for an introduction to Movement Shiatsu — an approach that explores the body not as a collection of separate parts, but as a living, dynamic system constantly adapting and communicating.

Rather than simply asking “Where does it hurt?”, Movement Shiatsu invites us to ask:
What is the body trying to do?
Where is movement being restricted?
And what happens when we work with the movement, rather than against it?

🌍 **The Five Elements** 🌍

Have you ever considered that the natural elements around us could hold the keys to our well-being? In Shiatsu, the ancient wisdom of the Five Elements—Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water—is more than just poetic symbolism. It's a practical framework that guides us in understanding the complex interplay of energies within the human body. Each element corresponds to specific organs, emotions, and aspects of the spirit, offering a holistic lens through which to view health and healing.

🌱 **Wood: The Element of Growth and Expansion** 🌱

Wood represents the liver and gallbladder, organs associated with planning and decision-making. When balanced, the Wood element manifests as flexibility and the ability to adapt. When imbalanced, it can lead to feelings of frustration or stagnation. In Shiatsu, techniques are applied to help balance this element, encouraging a sense of growth and forward movement in life.

🔥 **Fire: The Element of Connection and Joy** 🔥

Fire corresponds to the heart and small intestine, organs linked to our ability to connect with others and experience joy. A balanced Fire element allows for meaningful relationships and emotional warmth, while an imbalance may result in feelings of isolation or emotional volatility. Shiatsu aims to nurture this element, promoting emotional well-being.

🌏 **Earth: The Element of Nourishment and Stability** 🌏

Representing the spleen and stomach, Earth is the element of nourishment and grounding. When in balance, it fosters a sense of stability and emotional equilibrium. An imbalance can lead to worry or overthinking. Through Shiatsu, we work to strengthen this element, helping you feel more grounded and nourished in your daily life.

🌪️ **Metal: The Element of Structure and Letting Go** 🌪️

Metal is associated with the lungs and large intestine, organs that deal with structure and the process of letting go. A balanced Metal element allows for a sense of order and the ability to release what no longer serves us. Shiatsu techniques aim to balance this element, encouraging a healthy flow of life.

💧 **Water: The Element of Depth and Intuition** 💧

Water represents the kidneys and bladder, organs connected to our deepest fears and intuitive wisdom. When balanced, the Water element fosters a sense of inner peace and intuitive guidance. Through Shiatsu, we aim to balance this element, helping you tap into your inner wisdom and face life's challenges with equanimity.

If you're intrigued by the philosophy of the Five Elements and how they can guide your journey in Shiatsu (and life), we invite you to take the first step toward a career that harmonizes the elements within and around us.

📌 This workshop is ideal for Shiatsu practitioners, acupuncturists, and anyone seeking to integrate Eastern medicine principles into their practice.

⏳ On 17th Oct and 18th Oct, discover how to leverage the Five Elements to build rapport and create more effective treatments⏳ Sign Up Today: https://shiat.su/five-elements
