Thesis Eleven Centre for Cultural Sociology

Thesis Eleven Centre for Cultural Sociology This page is set up to facilitate the Thesis Eleven Centre's events and seminars and the publication of the journal.

The Thesis Eleven Centre for Cultural Sociology has been set up to facilitate the development of social and political theory, both through aiding in graduate research and through conferences, forums and educational workshops. The institute's origins lie in the Thesis Eleven journal for critical theory and historical sociology which was established in 1980 by Peter Beilharz, Julian Triado and Alist

air Davidson. There is a separate page for the journal so please see that for further information and news. The Thesis Eleven Centre follows on the tradition from the journal and directly facilitates discussion and debate in the field of social and political theory. The name of Thesis Eleven (of both the journal and the institute) originates from Marx's Eleventh Thesis of Feuerbach, 1845; "The philosophers have interpreted the world, in various different ways; the point, however, is to change it".
