ANU Applied Cognition and Transport Safety Lab The Applied Cognition and Transport Safety (ACTS) Lab is part of the Research School of Psychology at The Australian National University.

The Applied Cognition and Transport Safety (ACTS) Lab conducts research into aspects of human cognition that affect a range of real world tasks, including driving and road user behaviour, reading, spelling and music perception. ct one of our members. Current staff in the ACTS Lab include Associate Professor Kristen Pammer, Dr Vanessa Beanland, Dr Maria Borzycki and Mr Alex Smith. We work with a number of research students including postgraduate, honours and undergraduate students at the Australian National University. We collaborate with researchers at a number of institutions including the University of Western Australia, Monash University, Queensland University of Technology and the University of the Sunshine Coast. We also have ongoing research partnerships with the Australian Capital Territory Ambulance Service and Ambulance Victoria. Our research is supported by the Australian Research Council (www.arc.gov.au) and NRMA-ACT Road Safety Trust (www.roadsafetytrust.org.au).
