Are we seeing a ‘green-left conspiracy' via the rise of independents, or is it really just the sensible-centre? Prof Patrick Dumont and Feodor Snagovsky analysed data from Smartvote, which shows most independents actually take policy positions somewhere between Labor and the Liberals.

Despite criticism of running a radical left agenda, new research shows most independents' views are somewhere between the major parties.
