💜 Wear It Purple Day 2026 – Colours of Courage 💜
Erindale College proudly celebrated Wear It Purple Day on Friday 28 August, joining communities across Australia in showing support for inclusion, acceptance, diversity and belonging.

This year’s theme, “Colours of Courage,” encouraged our students to have the courage to be themselves and to celebrate the many different identities, backgrounds and experiences that make our school community stronger.

During the lunchtime celebration, students and staff gathered in the E-Knex Courtyard to enjoy a range of activities, including Arts & Crafts, a Wear It Purple Photo Booth, a Wall of Words, purple-themed treats and cake pops, and purple pikelets. Students also had the opportunity to participate in a fun Q&A session, share messages of positivity and connection, and show their support by wearing purple.

A huge thank you to our Youth Workers, BSO, Wellbeing Team, students, staff and volunteers, as well as YWCA Canberra Youth Worker Ell Harrison, for helping make the day such a success.

Most importantly, Wear It Purple Day provided an opportunity for our school community to come together and reinforce an important message: everyone deserves to feel seen, valued, respected and included. 💜

Sport at Erindale College is about more than training and competition. It is about developing the skills and character to make a positive contribution.

Well done to Will, Bane, Chelsea, Ava, Bryson, Tanarra, Imogen and Laela who volunteered at the recent Secondary South Regional Track and Field Carnival.

By stepping up to support a major sporting event, these students demonstrated their ability to work with others, develop independence and remain determined when taking on new responsibilities.

The positive feedback from organisers was a fantastic reflection of the way our students represented themselves and Erindale College.

These are the experiences that help develop high performing holistic students.

Great things happen when talented people remain determined, seek challenge and develop independence in pursuing what they love.

We are excited to celebrate Erindale alumni Ryder Darling and Riley Element, who have teamed up with some old friends to form an exciting new contemporary band, Encore.

From the classroom to the stage, it’s fantastic to see our alumni continuing to pursue their passions, work with others and create something of their own.

Check out the article, keep an eye out for Encore’s upcoming shows and get along to see them live.

Recently, Erindale College hosted our Inclusive Post School Options Expo, providing students and families with an opportunity to explore pathways and supports available beyond college.

A range of NDIS employment support providers joined us to share information about their programs and services, followed by a relaxed Meet & Greet where students and families could ask questions and make connections in a small, welcoming setting. We were also pleased to welcome Feros Care, who were available to provide information and guidance around NDIS plans and supports.

Thank you to all of the providers, students and families who joined us. Events like this are an important part of supporting our students to explore their options, build connections and plan confidently for life beyond college.
