📣 Announcement: Applications for VentureHUB are OPEN!

Formerly known as the Jacques Nasser Fund for Innovation Micro-Accelerator, VentureHUB is the program designed for LaunchHUB alum startups ready to amplify their impact.

Over four quick weeks, discover the key insights your startup needs to become a high-growth impact player and develop a scalable business model made for global market entry.

VentureHUB is also another avenue for startups to tap into further funding opportunities valued at up to $15,000 through the Jacques Nasser Fund for Innovation, giving startups the means to grow and amplify their impact.

In our most recent Residency HUBDay, we were privileged to have Jochy Reyes from Mantel Group Melbourne as our special guest speaker.

With a background in Software Engineering, she shared valuable insights and agile tools that can help build flexible startups.

Here are some key learnings from the session:
➡️ Sunk cost fallacy: This is a hurdle startups may face as they progress and grow. By embracing agile methodology, startups can work more collaboratively within teams and respond to feedback and changes quickly.

➡️ Hypothesis-driven development: Startups can benefit from this tool to test assumptions that require validation within a time box. This can help with deciding whether to iterate or persevere with the original idea.

➡️ Spikes: For problems or technology that require technical exploration, founders can identify if a technology is suitable for their startup using the spikes tool. This can aid with resource allocation and outline recommended next steps.

➡️ Story mapping: Startups can use this tool to identify gaps in workflows and prioritisation. It creates a holistic view of the journey and interaction customers will have with products, highlighting opportunities the team can consider.

🚀 Last week, we hosted our sixteenth LaunchHUB bootcamp with shortlisted startup teams and our new coaches 🚀

Bootcamp is the second selection round for Activator’s Pre-Accelerator program. The two-day experience is designed to challenge selected startup teams with their understanding of their business and product-market fit.

Each startup founder also had the opportunity to ‘wow’ our coaches as they took part in a round of speed pitching.

With only three minutes on the clock, each team pitched their startup’s idea to each coach with time allocated for questions and feedback.
