Most MBS students arrive at recruiting season with only a half-picture of consulting. Some sense of what firms do, vague intuition about case interviews, and not much of a plan.

On Friday 12 June, we’re filling in the picture.

Workshop 1 of 3 presented by MBS Career Services, supported by the MBS Student Representative Council and MBS Consulting Club, brings Kieran White (FTMBA ’16) back to Melbourne Business School for a two-hour bootcamp covering what you actually need to know:
• what consulting really is beyond the brochure
• what consultants do day-to-day
• what the case interview is actually testing
• the five skills that move the needle, and the nine ways strong candidates fail
• how to prepare in a way that genuinely works
• a practical 4-week preparation roadmap using MBS resources including Case Coach

Plus a full live case, solved end-to-end with the whole room as the candidate.

Kieran has been on both sides of the case interview desk. He sat 20+ MBB interviews as a candidate (receiving offers from McKinsey, BCG & Bain), conducted interviews for 4+ years at Bain, led the firm’s Australia MBA hiring, and now uses case interviews when hiring strategy roles at NAB. He has also coached MBS students through consulting recruitment since 2017.

📚 Included Resources
• Pre-session reading including “Is Consulting Right for You?”, honest self-assessment questions, visa considerations, and a real Bain consulting diary entry
• A post-session guide covering the five things that matter most in case interviews, the 9 failure modes in full, learning resources, and previews of Sessions 2 & 3

📅 Fri 12 June
⏰ 6:00-8:00pm
📍 LT4, MBS

There is a lot that shapes your experience at Melbourne Business School. We’re the team making sure students are at the centre of all of it.

Meet your 2026 MBS Student Representative Council. All in on our north star of elevating the MBS student experience through advocacy, representation, and community.

In practice, that means making sure students always know what’s on and how to get involved. It means advocating on the things that matter most to students and actually doing something about it. It means supporting the clubs they’re already building and helping them connect with an alumni community that’s already in their corner. It means helping students find and unlock career opportunities that set them up for what comes next.

We’re here, we’re listening, and we follow through.

Got something you want us to hear? Reach us at [email protected]. We read every message.
