Our Shark Cage Group offers a safe and supportive space to build practical skills, strengthen resilience, and connect with others who understand.

Over 8 weeks, participants will explore strategies for managing difficult emotions, navigating challenges, and building confidence in a welcoming group environment led by experienced facilitators.

Women’s Health Northern Rivers is now taking expressions of interest for our Shark Cage Group Program in Casino and Lismore for Term 4. Places are strictly limited to 10 women per group, so we encourage women to register their interest as soon as possible.

The Shark Cage Group Program is an 8-week supportive and empowering program for women who have experienced domestic and family violence or sexual abuse. Using the evidence-based Shark Cage Framework, participants develop a deeper understanding of trauma and healing while building practical skills to support their wellbeing and recovery.

Participants will learn about:

• The impacts of trauma
• Understanding and setting healthy boundaries
• Developing assertiveness skills
• Building self-worth and empowerment
• Creating safer and healthier relationships

Over the years, women who have completed Shark Cage have consistently reported increased confidence, stronger boundaries, greater self-worth and a deeper understanding of themselves and their experiences. Many describe the program as life-changing, valuing both the practical tools and the supportive connections formed within the group.

The program provides a safe, inclusive and supportive environment where women can connect with others, share experiences and strengthen their sense of empowerment.
