There was a real sense of pride and community at the official opening of our Mini Woolworths training facility at TAFE NSW Casino on 18 March.

This purpose-built space replicates a real supermarket environment and forms part of our Certificate I in Retail delivered at Casino campus. It provides students with the opportunity to develop practical, job-ready skills in customer service, stock handling and point-of-sale operations in a safe, supported setting.

More than that, it creates inclusive, local training opportunities — particularly for people with disability — building confidence, capability and genuine pathways into employment.

As Head Teacher, Floristry, Retail and Logistics, I couldn’t be prouder of what this represents for our students and the Northern Rivers community.
