Five APSAA Excellence Awards. Three years. Weโre deeply grateful, genuinely humbled, and very proud.
Last night in Adelaide, Mannix was once again recognised on the international stage at the Asia-Pacific Student Accommodation Association Excellence Awards, the leading awards program for university accommodation across the Asia-Pacific region.
Mannix received:
๐ Best Development Award, for our residential wings refurbishment project
๐ Best Student Experience Program, for our Young Hearts intergenerational volunteering partnership with Villa Maria Catholic Homes
These awards continue a remarkable period of recognition of our efforts:
๐ 2024 APSAA Excellence Award, Sustainability
๐ 2025 APSAA Excellence Award, Student Experience
๐ 2025 APSAA Excellence Award, Facility Development
๐ 2026 APSAA Excellence Award, Student Experience
๐ 2026 APSAA Excellence Award, Facility Development
Principal Andrew Swan was proud (and a bit emotional!) to accept the awards on behalf of the entire Mannix community, and the many wonderful people and partners who help us do what we do best.
While the 2025 awards reflect very different work, they are connected by a shared idea: that place and people both matter deeply.
The refurbishment project was about more than buildings. It was about improving an environment where students feel safe, supported, more comfortable, and proud to call Mannix home.
Young Hearts carries that same spirit into the wider community, bringing together two Catholic communities, one of younger adults and the other of older adults, through friendship, dignity, compassion, and care.
Thank you to APSAA for recognising the humble efforts of our community.
And, most importantly, thank you to our staff, students, Council, partners, alumni, and supporters. These achievements belong to all of you.
With further thanks to our friends at VMCH, the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne, Catholic Development Fund (CDF), SEMZ, Monash University and Harris HMC.
