Earlier this week, researchers, industry leaders and government representatives came together for the ๐ข๐ฐ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ป๐ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฎ ๐๐ผ๐ป๐ณ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒ, to explore how data-driven approaches are transforming ocean science, offshore engineering and marine decision-making across Australia.
๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ณ๐ฒ๐๐๐ผ๐ฟ ๐๐ป๐ป๐ฎ ๐ก๐ผ๐๐ฎ๐ธ (UWA Deputy Vice Chancellor- Research) joined OI Director ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ณ๐ฒ๐๐๐ผ๐ฟ ๐๐ต๐ฟ๐ถ๐๐๐ผ๐ฝ๐ต๐ฒ ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฑ๐ถ๐ป to welcome attendees to this important event showcasing the power of interdisciplinary collaboration in tackling some of the biggest challenges facing our oceans and coasts.
We are incredibly grateful to Australia's Chief Scientist ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ณ๐ฒ๐๐๐ผ๐ฟ ๐ง๐ผ๐ป๐ ๐๐ฎ๐๐บ๐ฒ๐ for joining us to deliver his keynote address on the growing importance of ocean data to underpin every credible decision we make about climate, ecosystems and the blue economy.
A huge thank you to all our outstanding speakers, partners and attendees for sharing ideas, insights and innovations throughout the day and for helping create such a collaborative atmosphere.
Thank you also to our session chairs Mark Stickells (CEO, Pawsey Supercomputing Research Centre), Dr Jenny Shaw (Research Director, Western Australian Marine Science Institution), Dr Brett Molony (Deputy Director, CSIRO) and Dr Adrian Gleiss (Murdoch University).
The conversations sparked at Oceans of Data are only just beginning, and weโre excited to see the new collaborations and opportunities that emerge from them.
This event was a collaboration between UWAโs Oceans Institute, the UWA Data Institute, and the UWAโs TIDE Research Hub.
