JOB OPPORTUNITY | TECHNICAL OFFICER – MEDICAL ENTOMOLOGY

Are you a CDU Science or Biology student/graduate looking to build hands-on experience in field and laboratory-based work?

The NT Department of Health – Medical Entomology is seeking a Technical Officer to join its team in Darwin.

📍 Location: Darwin, NT
Position: Technical Officer 2 – Full-time
Applications close: 3 September 2026

The role provides technical support to Medical Entomology in the monitoring and control of insects of medical importance, with duties including insect trapping and identification, mosquito field surveys, vector control activities, equipment maintenance, record keeping and reporting.

🎓 Applicants should have a Certificate, Associate Diploma or equivalent qualification/relevant work experience with biology as a major focus, along with relevant technical and field capabilities. A current NT driver’s licence is also required.

🎉 That’s a wrap on the CDU–KPMG Consulting Skills Accelerator Program 2026!

What an incredible three days of learning, collaboration, problem-solving and networking at CDU Danala Campus!

Our final-year CDU students had the opportunity to work alongside professionals from KPMG Darwin, develop practical consulting skills, tackle real-world challenges and put their learning into action through their final team presentations. 💡🤝

🌟 This year was extra special, marking the 5th year of the CDU–KPMG Consulting Skills Accelerator Program!

The program has been delivered as part of the strategic partnership between Charles Darwin University and KPMG, established through a five-year Memorandum of Understanding. Over the years, this partnership has helped connect CDU students with industry through the Consulting Skills Accelerator, networking opportunities, guest lectures, work placements and other professional development initiatives.

A huge thank you to the KPMG team for your continued partnership and for generously sharing your time, knowledge and industry expertise with our students. 💙

And most importantly, congratulations to all our participating students! 👏🎓 Thank you for bringing your enthusiasm, ideas and commitment across all three days. We hope you take the skills, connections and confidence gained through the program into the next stage of your career journey.
