CIDRN x Moondani Balluk at the Inter-American Congress of Psychology 2025 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Work from our collective and individual projects were presented on day 2 and Christopher Sonn also delivered a keynote.

The conference has given rise to some exciting new collaborations connecting us with folks from Peru, Chile, Mexico and more.

At the recent Society for Community Research and Action 2025 conference the Don Klein award to advance community psycholoy pratice was awarded to The Cambridge Handbook of Community Empowerment. Included in this fabulous volume edited by Brian D. Christens is a chapter by CIDRN colleageus Chris Sonn, Rama Agung-Igusti, Roshani Jayawardana, Amy Quayle and Sam Keast. Congrats to all contributors!

Muslims of Victoria: Stories of Migration, Community, and Homemaking shares the stories of nine Muslim migrants from Albanian, Turkish, Cypriot Turkish, Macedonian, and Bosnian backgrounds. The film showcases their journeys of migration, community-building, identity, faith, and belonging in Victoria.

By sharing their voices, the films foster a deeper understanding of the diversity within the Muslim community and the vital role Muslims have played in shaping Victoria’s social, cultural, and economic landscape.
