A large observational study suggests higher daily movement including light activity is associated with a lower risk of developing new musculoskeletal pain, while more time spent sitting is linked with higher risk.

❌ No magic exercise.
❌ No intensity threshold.

👌 Just movement, accumulated across the day, in real-world lives.

It raises some interesting questions for both clinicians and the wider movement conversation.

Luke’s back at it!

This time in the lecture theatre!
We’re proud to share that Luke is now teaching into the Master of Clinical Exercise Science & Rehab at Victoria University 🎓

He’s leading the Pain Science unit 🧠, diving deep into topics like nociception, central sensitisation, movement behaviours, and the biopsychosocial model 🔍

If you’ve ever worked with Luke, you’ve seen his passion for pain education and evidence-based rehab firsthand—and now a whole new cohort of students will too 👏

We love seeing our team making waves beyond the clinic 🌊

🧠 Uncertainty in MSK care—fear it or embrace it? 🤔

As physios, we often feel pressured to have all the answers, but the reality is that diagnostic uncertainty is part of the job. Studies show that how we handle uncertainty impacts both our patients’ outcomes and our own growth as clinicians.

❌ When uncertainty is ignored:
🔹 Over-reliance on the biomedical model ⚕️
🔹 Increased use of unnecessary imaging & passive treatments 🩻
🔹 Patients lose confidence & develop fear-avoidance behaviors 🚫🏃‍♂️

✅ When uncertainty is embraced:
🔹 We shift towards function-focused, evidence-based care 🔄
🔹 Patients gain self-efficacy & resilience 💪
🔹 Clinicians develop stronger reasoning & confidence 🔥

You don’t need all the answers—you just need the tools to navigate uncertainty effectively. Let’s talk about it! ⬇️
