*AGM date and location TBC*
President:
- Leads the overall running of the SIG (including seeking and maintaining sponsorships, overseeing events and supporting committee members throughout the year)
- Hosts committee meetings
- Loaded with sponsors and VSA
- Represent the SIG
Vice President:
- Support president and commitee with event planning and coordination
- Ensure the team runs smoothly and remains organised.
- Share workload with president (step into president’s role when they are unavailable)
Secretary:
- Run meetings
- Take meeting minutes
- Update membership list
- Organize merchandise
- Keep google drive and emails organised
Treasurer:
- Manages the SIG’s finances
- Liaison with VSA on spending, budgeting for events (predicted costs)
- Track income & expenses
- Guide the processing of reimbursements for the committee members
- Maintain accurate financial records on the ledger.
- Ensures no misuse of SIG funds
Year reps & vet tech reps:
- Main link between SAVS and your cohort
- Help promote events, gather feedback
- Assist with organising and running events
- Keep the team updated on important assessment dates to help with event planning.
- Contribute to committee decision-making.
Behaviour rep:
- Organise events and workshops that help students better understand animal behaviour and practical behaviour management.
Emergency rep:
- Organise, create, and run events in collaboration with local and international industry professionals in order to introduce the veterinary emergency specialisation to students
Social media officer:
- promote the SIG events (ig reels, posts etc.)
- create posters for sign on, events, committee introductions, merch etc.
