Great to see first year Agriculture students Eliza Mactaggart and Lockie Mactaggart taking part in the 2026 ICMJ Industry Tour in Brisbane.

Over the coming days, they'll have the opportunity to further explore the Australian red meat industry, visit leading businesses and connect with industry professionals from across the supply chain.

We hope you both have a fantastic experience and look forward to hearing about everything you learn, the connections you make and finding out whether those new steak cooking skills are as good as they say when you're back on campus!

Although our international study tours have now come to an end, we've still got plenty more highlights to share.

One of the many industry visits for our final year Agriculture students was with The Peoples Company, where they were given a firsthand look at agriculture in the Mississippi Delta.

The day included visits to Bosco Farm to learn about cotton production, seeing the corn harvest in action, touring soybean fields and discussing the opportunities and challenges facing agriculture in one of the world's major production regions.

A huge thank you to Julie Boggs, Thomas Boggs and George Baird for their generous hospitality and for sharing their knowledge and experience with our students.

Stay tuned as we continue to share more highlights from our students' international study tours over the coming weeks.

What a way to finish the AG2 International Study Tour.

Our second year Agribusiness students wrapped up their time in California with a Rodeo Showcase at the Cal Poly Rodeo Grounds, giving them the opportunity to experience another unique aspect of American agricultural and western culture. The showcase followed a visit to Cal Poly's Beef Unit and Bull Evaluation Centre, providing another valuable insight into the University's renowned agricultural programs.

A huge thank you to the team at Cal Poly, the Cal Poly San Luis Obispo Rodeo Team, and everyone involved in making the visit such a memorable way to conclude what has been an outstanding international study tour.

As our second year Agribusiness students near the end of their California study tour, here's a snapshot of some of the experiences they've enjoyed over the past two weeks.

From UC Davis and Blue Diamond Almonds to Harris Ranch Beef, Thomas Foods International USA, Andy Boy, Cobram Estate USA, Cal Poly Beef Unit and many more, the group has had the opportunity to explore a diverse range of agricultural businesses and production systems while learning directly from industry leaders.

A huge thank you to all of the businesses and organisations that have welcomed our students and generously shared their time, knowledge and expertise throughout the tour.

We've received another great collection of photos from our first year Agribusiness students (AG1 Whelan) as they continue their study tour across New Zealand.

These photos capture just some of the businesses the group has visited, including Mills Bay Mussels, FlipFarm and Marlborough Oysters, BNZ, the award winning Te Whare Ra (TWR) Wines, and Zentera Wool Company.

From seafood production and banking through to wine and wool, each visit has given students the opportunity to experience different parts of New Zealand's agribusiness sector and learn directly from the people working within it.

A huge thank you to everyone who has welcomed our students and generously shared their time, knowledge and experiences.

Last month, our Centre for Professional Development team had the opportunity to deliver a one off Marcus Oldham Rural Leadership Program at Tamborine Mountain in Queensland.

It was a fantastic week bringing together 23 participants in a truly spectacular part of the world to develop their leadership skills, challenge their thinking and build valuable connections with others from across the agricultural industry.

Thank you to everyone who took part and helped make the program such a success.
