Last Saturday I had the privilege of stepping onto the TEDx stage to share a story that is deeply connected to both my research and my sense of place.

My talk centred on the platypus and the power of connection: how a single species can change the way people see their waterways, and why that shift is key to driving meaningful environmental change.

Being part of TEDx was both exciting and humbling. It was an opportunity to translate years of research and engagement into a story that connects with a broader audience - bridging science, community, and conservation.

A huge thank you to the organisers, fellow speakers, my team and everyone who supported me through the process.

I’ll share the talk once it’s live.
