A meaningful way to mark National Reconciliation Week ๐ŸŒพ

We gathered at the Aunty Dot Peters AM Flowering Grasslands to learn about culture and connection to Country. Joined by Dean Stewart, a Wemba Wemba-Wergaia man and designer of the eco-space, we heard stories about the grasslands and the cultural and environmental significance of native plants ๐Ÿ‚

Together we reflected, learned and connected to Country.

A day to honour the strength and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and reflect on healing and reconciliation ๐Ÿซถ

At the Indigenous Learning Circles on our Hawthorn campus, staff and students gathered for a National Sorry Day service that included a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony, led by Wurundjeri elder Uncle Colin Hunter Jr, followed by a powerful address from VET Indigenous Project Officer at Moondani Toombadool Centre, Nikki Madgwick.

Merindah-Gunya Art also hosted an Indigenous art workshop, offering an opportunity to discover, learn and create.

This year's National Reconciliation Week theme of 'All In' serves as a timely reminder that healing requires all of us to take action.
