Important Message from keys2drive.
Relevant for all Driving Instructors, Learners and Supervisors.
COVID-19 Update #2 as at 10.30am, Tues 24th March
The Australian Government has not yet placed any restrictions on delivering driving lessons.
Whether or not you continue to instruct is at your own discretion.
Please ensure to also check with your State-based licencing authority for updates as each State may differ.
If you choose to continue lessons at this point, it's critical that you, your learners and supervisors all follow good hygiene practices. Don't be afraid to screen learners and supervisors prior to the commencement of lessons to ensure they don't currently have any symptoms, have recently been overseas or have been in contact with someone who has.
We will be sure to update you by both email and text message as soon as there are any further developments.
We have also included last week's newsflash below for anyone who may have missed it.
COVID-19 Update #1 as at 11am, Thurs 19th March
Like every organisation around Australia (and the world), the Keys2drive team is facing the impact of the Coronavirus and adjusting our work environments to ensure health and safety are at the forefront.
You, our Keys2drive instructor family, along with learners and supervisors, are our top priority and we’ll be doing everything we can to make sure things continue to run smoothly as possible
Will Keys2drive Admin still be in the office?
We have plans in place to adapt to changing circumstances, including staff working from home. Whatever restrictions come up, we’ll still be able to answer and make calls, reply to emails, send you Keys2drive stock and do all the other things you’ve come to expect.
Will I still get paid?
Yes. Payments will still be processed every Tuesday.
Should I still deliver lessons?
The Australian Government has not yet placed any restrictions on delivering driving lessons.
In the meantime, we recommend you follow the health and safety practices listed below and keep an eye on official Government news sources for updates.
Health and safety practices to prevent the spread of infection
Yourselves
If you have flu-like symptoms such as fever, aching limbs or respiratory symptoms such as a cough, shortness of breath, runny nose or sneezing, we recommend you see a health professional and ask you to cease all training until you have recovered.
If you have recently travelled to any significantly affected countries or you have had close contact with someone who has the virus or who has travelled from countries significantly affected. We recommend you exclude yourself from any training for 14 days (or such other period recommended by the Department of Health).
Your Customers
To protect yourselves, it is important to know if your trainee has any symptoms that may indicate exposure. Please ensure you are checking with everyone prior to them getting into your car if they, or anyone they've been in contact with, have any of the symptoms listed above or recently travelled overseas.
Personal Health and Hygiene
We ask that you continue to practice good hygiene to protect against infection. Good hygiene includes:
· Washing your hands often with soap and water - this is better than hand sanitiser
· Using a tissue and covering your mouth when you cough or sneeze
· Avoiding close contact with others such as shaking hands
· Use disinfectant products to wipe down the interior of your vehicle before commencing a lesson. Not just the steering wheel, wipe the indicator, gear lever, door handle, any place that germs could hide. If anti-bacterial wipes are hard to find on supermarket shelves, use an antibacterial spray.
· On your vehicle's air-conditioning, turn recirculate off so that there is plenty of fresh air in the cabin
Please take care of yourselves and one another.
We’ll keep you updated as things progress.
