Playoffs Success! 🎶🎤🎸

A huge congratulations to Vince and Carl for putting on an awesome event last night! 👏

We have some incredibly talented students, and they absolutely blew the crowd away with an engaging mix of covers and original songs. It was fantastic to see their hard work, confidence, and creativity shine on stage.

Stay tuned to see who will represent NC in the Tasmanian Rock Challenge next week.

SWES gives students the chance to share their experiences of wellbeing, engagement and learning at school.

The survey is confidential, and student feedback helps schools understand what's working well and where improvements may be needed.

Outdoor Education students remained on campus today, focusing on essential preparation for upcoming abseiling and rock-climbing sessions at the Gorge. 🧗‍♀️

Using a mock climbing and abseiling setup, students practised key skills including harness fitting, rope management, communication calls, and safety procedures. This hands-on session helped build confidence and competence while reinforcing the importance of risk management and teamwork in outdoor adventure activities.

Book Week comes to Newstead College 📚

All sorts of characters (that looked suspiciously like some of our staff and students) filled up the library today to celebrate Book Week!

The event demonstrated creativity, community, and a love for characters, storytelling, and books.

This years theme for Wear it Purple Day is ‘Colours of Courage’. The colours reflect the diversity of identities, experiences and stories within our community.

It honours the courage of our LGBTQIA+ young people as they continue to build community, connection and visibility, and our allies who choose to stand up, speak out and continue to create safe and inclusive spaces. 💜🏳️‍🌈

Please join us this Friday 28th Aug in wearing purple or the rainbow, in celebration of our LGBTQIA+ community!
