💙 National Carers Week 2026 💙

National Carers Week is a time to recognise, celebrate and raise awareness of the more than 3 million Australians who provide unpaid care to a family member or friend.

This year’s theme, “Care for a carer: Making carers visible,” shines a light on the incredible contribution of unpaid carers and reminds us all of the importance of recognising, supporting and caring for the carers in our families, workplaces and communities.

Carers play such an important role, often giving their time, energy and love quietly in the background. National Carers Week is an opportunity to say thank you and to help make carers more visible.

Anyone can become a carer, at any time.
Let’s take the time to acknowledge and support the carers around us. 💙

💚 World Mental Health Day 2026 💚
10 October 2026

World Mental Health Day is held on the 10th October each year. This is an important time to raise awareness, reduce stigma and encourage people to seek support when they need it. It is also a reminder to pause, check in with ourselves and those around us, and reflect on how we can look after our own mental health and wellbeing.

The global theme for 2026 is Lived Experiences Heard: Real Voices, Real Change, reminding us of the importance of listening to real stories and valuing the voices of people with lived experience.

This Mental Health Month, let’s take time to check in, start conversations and strengthen the connections that help us thrive. 💚

💜 World Alzheimer’s Day 💜

Each September, communities around the world come together to raise awareness of Alzheimer’s disease and all types of dementia, and to challenge the stigma that still surrounds them.

This year’s theme is:

The Earlier You Know, The More You Can Do: A Dementia Diagnosis Matters.

Early diagnosis can help people living with dementia, their families and carers access the right treatment, care, information and support sooner. It can also help people plan ahead, make informed decisions and feel less alone.

At Camden Haven Community College, we recognise the important role that understanding, compassion and education play in supporting people living with dementia and those who care for them.

Let’s continue to build a community where people feel supported, respected and empowered to seek help early.
