A wonderful day on International Day of the Midwife celebrating midwives and future midwives. The theme One Million More Midwives highlights not only the need for a larger workforce but the improvements in care more midwives can achieve, less unnecessary intervention, care that is more accessible, respectful, woman-centred and cost effective.

HESTA and ACM are offering scholarships for midwifery students to attend the National ACM conference in September 2026 on the Gold Coast. Scholarships include a 3 day National conference ticket + $500 to go towards accomodation and travel expenses. Applications close on 31st March

Recent press claimed midwifery students 'are taking control' of public antenatal clinics. Midwifery students have always been involved in antenatal care under the supervision of a registered midwife or medical practitioner.
