RMIT has risen again in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings! 🎉

We’re now ranked 239th globally out of more than 2,200 universities, and 13th in Australia.

This year, RMIT recorded higher scores for teaching reputation and research reputation and improved across all four measures of research quality.

We also remain in the global top 100 for international outlook, ranking 81st in the world. This reflects the international mix of our staff and students and our international research collaboration.

Ten years ago, RMIT was in the 401–500 band globally and equal 24th in Australia. That progress places RMIT among the leading global improvers in the rankings over the past decade.

RMIT continues to perform strongly in the latest Shanghai Global Ranking of Academic Subjects, with 11 subjects ranked in the global top 100! 🎉

RMIT is once again in the top 50 worldwide for Business Administration, Civil Engineering, Food Science and Technology, and Aerospace Engineering.

In Australia, RMIT is #1 for Civil Engineering, Food Science and Technology and Aerospace Engineering, and #2 for Business Administration.

RMIT also recorded strong results across technology and other engineering subjects. Computer Science and Engineering and Mechanical Engineering both rose into the top 75 globally, while Materials Science and Engineering moved into the top 100.

Communication remains in the global top 75 and RMIT is equal #2 in Australia.

Across the rankings, 10 RMIT subjects improved their position from last year, while the number of RMIT subjects ranked in the global top 200 increased from 24 to 26.

These rankings assess research performance, including research output, quality, impact and international collaboration.

We’re proud of the researchers and academic teams behind these results, which reflect the breadth of research excellence across RMIT.
