The UMSU Environment Department exists because climate change and environment degradation are concerning realities which students can play an important a role in addressing. From making meaningful change in an existing group or campaign or making

your own, to supporting action on climate change at a national level to initiating and advocating for increased campus sustainability, there are so many opportunities to contribute to improved environmental outcomes here at Melbourne University! The Environment Department supports the UMSU Community Garden and the Bike Co-op. We also seek to support students to participate in environmental programs outside of the university or instigate new projects.

Join UMSU Enviro this Friday night to protest Pauline Hanson and Barnaby Joyce who will be in Moonee Ponds hosting a fundraiser for One Nation.

The threat of the far right is real - Hanson’s racist party has gone from polling at 5% federally to 30% in less than a year. One Nation is now the most popular party in Australia.

This far-right, racist, anti-union politics must be resisted. That’s why we’re going to the protest organised by the Campaign Against Racism and Fascism and we want you to join us.

Join UMSU Enviro & Students for Palestine for a forum with Neve O’Connor, a participant on the Global Sumud Flotilla 🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸

Neve was a part of the largest ever humanitarian mission to break Israel’s siege on Gaza. Neve, alongside over 400 other activists from 56 countries across the world set sail to Gaza with tonnes of life saving aid. The Israeli military kidnapped them in international waters and subjected them to torture for days before they were deported.

What they went through is a fraction of what Palestinian prisoners endure every day under Israeli occupation.

Join us next Friday to hear from Neve about the Global Sumud Flotilla’s latest mission and get involved with the fight for a free Palestine. The struggle is a long one, and we need you in it for the long haul.

Hey Mob, tomorrow morning UMSU is holding a Mob only morning tea to watch the Walk for Truth arrive at Parliament House, and to have a yarn.
As we all know our very own Travis Lovett is leading the charge and he’s recorded a special message for us.

HEY! FREE FREE FREE!!! As a part of the thrift market tomorrow (Wed 20th May 11am-3pm) we have a FREE REPAIR CAFE!! So if you need to fix some clothes have a look here and bring along some stuff for repairs! Also if you find a gem with a loose button or a weird length come get it fixed (all for free)
