From a passion for sport to a career in the fast lane, RMIT alum Dave Corrigan has built a career at the centre of Australia’s major motorsport events.🏎️

A Master of Business Administration alum, Dave chose RMIT for its flexible structure, practical learning and real-world business case studies, which helped him balance study with full-time work.

“The way that the RMIT MBA course was marketed, it just aligned with my lifestyle.” he said.

For Dave, the MBA offered “real-world stuff, practical learning” and the opportunity to explore real businesses as case studies.

After his early ambition of becoming a professional AFL player shifted, Dave found his path in the sports industry, eventually moving into motorsport.

Today, he works in management at the Australian Grand Prix Corporation, contributing to the strategic planning, innovation and operational delivery of major motorsport programs including Formula One and MotoGP.

A strong showing for RMIT’s screen community at SCREEN FOREVER on the Gold Coast.

RMIT students, staff and alumni from the School of Media and Communication were recognised across the program, from awards and presentations to live pitching.

Congratulations to recent RMIT Media graduate Mimo Mukii, who was selected as one of Screen Producers Australia’s 2026 Ones To Watch and named the Screen Placement winner, receiving a $20,000 career-defining prize supported by Screen Australia.

Her mentor, RMIT Bachelor of Communication Media alum Joanna Werner, also celebrated a big night, with The Newsreader Season 3 awarded Drama Series Production of the Year and Knee High Spies winning Children’s Production of the Year.

A wonderful reminder of the creative talent emerging from RMIT into the Australian screen industry.

Talent, determination and a strong belief in his design vision have shaped RMIT alum Steven Chu’s acclaimed career in architecture.

After moving to Australia alone at 19, Steven pursued his dream of becoming an architect at RMIT, completing a Bachelor of Architectural Design and Master of Architecture.

Today, as founder of Artefact Architects, Steven has been named the 2026 winner of Japan’s prestigious Not A Hotel design competition for his concept 'Sound of Rain'. His entry was inspired by the site where the winning design will be built, on Japan’s Yakushima, a UNESCO World Heritage island famed for its dense cedar forests and daily rainfall.

His words of advice to aspiring architects is to be bold and brave.

“Don’t be afraid to continue believing in yourself, especially when it seems no one else does.”

RMIT alum Toni Maticevski returns to Australian Fashion Week.

For the first time in over a decade, Melbourne-based fashion house MATICEVSKI returns to AFC Australian Fashion Week with the unveiling of Winter 2026.

Founded in 1999 by RMIT Bachelor of Design with Honours (Fashion/Apparel Design) alum, Toni Maticevski, the label is known for its sculptural silhouettes, technical precision and refined craftsmanship.

Designed and produced locally in Melbourne, MATICEVSKI continues to bring couture level attention to movement, finish and form.

Behind 100 CHAIRS with RMIT alum Dale Hardiman.

Following Melbourne Design Week 2025’s landmark exhibition 100 LIGHTS, 100 CHAIRS brings together the work of over 100 Australian creatives, studios, artists, architects and practices, exploring the chair as a medium.

The exhibition gives creatives at all career levels a platform to present their work, with each piece designed and made in Australia.

An RMIT Bachelor of Design (Industrial Design) and Associate Degree in Design (Furniture Design) alum, Dale reflects on how his time at RMIT helped shape his creative practice and career.

“Without the furniture design course at RMIT, I don’t think I would be here today, organising the biggest chair show in Australia,” says Dale Hardiman.

RMIT University and Melbourne-based biotech company Snoretox have shown early success with Snoretox-1, an injectable therapy designed to help flat-faced dogs breathe easier.🐾

The early trial involved six bulldogs with breathing difficulties caused by BOAS, with all six showing visible improvements and completing a brisk walk that had previously been difficult.

Further research and regulatory approvals are still needed, but the results show promising potential for improving the lives of flat-faced dogs.
