What experiences shaped you and your career beyond Janet Clarke Hall?

📚 Life at JCH has always been about more than just your degree. Our students stretch and grow though leadership experiences, intellectual challenges, creative pursuits, community engagement, and so much more.

As part of the JCH 140th Anniversary Mid-Year Appeal, we are focusing on Supporting Possibility — investing in the future leaders, innovators, creatives, and changemakers emerging from our student community.

💫 The Student Changemakers and Trailblazers Grant Program has been inspired by a long tradition of pioneering JCH graduates and is our commitment to ensuring that today’s students are supported to become tomorrow’s leaders.

Through the program, students can access financial and mentorship support aligned to their aspirations, projects and development goals — attendance at academic conferences, participation in leadership programs, support whilst completing industry placements, and the opportunity to gain micro-credentials alongside their degree.

What are your favourite spaces at Janet Clarke Hall?

For 140 years, the historic buildings that have housed our students have shaped their College experience. Within these spaces, students have made lifelong friendships, discovered their talents and passions, celebrated milestones, and created memories they carry with them wherever they go.

As part of the College’s 140th Anniversary Mid-Year Appeal, we're focusing on Supporting Place — ensuring our Rooftop Terrace can continue to offer students a place to gather with friends, study in the fresh air, and take a moment to breathe away from the hustle and bustle of the University campus.

How did Janet Clarke Hall shape your story?

For generations of students, JCH has been more than a place to live and learn. It has been a place where lifelong friendships are formed, confidence is built, opportunities are created and futures are shaped.

As part of the JCH 140th Mid-Year Appeal, we are focusing on Supporting People — helping ensure future generations of students can access the opportunities, experiences and sense of belonging that define life at JCH.

Through the Principal's Discretionary Fund, the JCH community supports deserving students through fee-remission scholarships, wellbeing initiatives, career and life-ready programs, personal growth and development opportunities, and Widening Participation initiatives.

The Fund also helps ensure more young people from underserved and low socioeconomic communities can access the opportunities and sense of belonging that life at JCH provides.

For 140 years, Janet Clarke Hall has been defined by its people, places and the possibilities enabled that influence who students become beyond JCH.

As we mark this milestone year, we are proud to launch the JCH 140th Mid-Year Appeal, reflecting on the experiences, connections and sense of belonging that continue to define life at JCH across generations.

This year’s appeal focuses on three important areas of College life:

👨‍🎓Supporting People - Scholarships, personal growth and development, and widening participation initiatives that support deserving young students.

🏫 Supporting Place - Renewing the Rooftop Terrace for the modern JCH student, as a space for social connection, reflection, quiet study and student wellbeing.

🚀 Supporting Possibility -
Future leadership, innovation and community impact through the new Student Changemakers and Trailblazers Grant Program.
