Last Monday, ACAP University College Sydney students took learning to new heights with a visit to Sydney Tower Eye. đź‘€
Along with the incredible views, students picked up a few surprising stories about Sydney’s history.

Did you know the Archibald Fountain in Hyde Park was once a popular meeting spot for dates, long before dating apps? Or that Double Bay is home to some of Sydney’s most expensive streets?

Keep an eye out for our next ACAP student excursion.

After 15 years in business, Shafiq decided it was time for a change.
He returned to study at ACAP University College, balancing his course with work as he built towards a new career in criminology.
Now, he’s putting that journey into practice with the Department of Justice.
Thinking about changing careers or returning to study? Shafiq’s advice is simple: it’s never too late to start something new.

Some stories stay with you. Karen’s is one of them.
After living with chronic illness for much of her life, Karen came to ACAP University College wanting to better understand how to support others facing similar experiences.

Her studies in counselling became deeply personal. Through research, reflection and her own health journey, Karen says she was able to apply what she learned while navigating cancer, trauma and some of the most challenging periods of her life.

Today, Karen is an ACAP graduate, an advocate for people living with chronic illness and disability, and the author of Chronic Wisdom, which shares her story of survival, strength and self discovery. She also uses her lived experience to help health professionals better understand what it means to truly sit with and support someone going through illness.

Karen, thank you for sharing your story with us. We’re incredibly proud to have you as part of the ACAP community 💙
