Sắc Việt is back for Season 2 🌼

Last year, we painted nón lá. This year, we’re bringing another little piece of Vietnamese childhood to Melbourne — heo đất 🐷🎨 a.k.a. the Vietnamese piggy bank.

Come for a relaxed afternoon of painting, chatting, meeting new people and simply enjoying some time together.

And a little secret… we’re bringing something new to the table this time too 👀
Vietnamese chicken sticky rice + bánh flan - warm, fragrant and dangerously easy to keep eating.

Come with your friends, or come on your own you definitely won’t be the only one. VIVU will make sure everyone feels welcomed and looked after 🤍

Dear diary, we’re sooo glad we did this one :’)
Mid-Autumn Festival turned out to be one of our sweetest memories of 2026. Seeing 99 of you show up honestly surprised us in the best way.

More than the number, what touched us most was seeing our culture being shared, people connecting, and so many new smiles in one room. That has always been what VIVU hopes to create, a little space where people can feel closer, warmer, and a little more at home

Melbourne has been sooo cold & windy lately and somehow it’s making us miss home a little extra 🥹

Because around this time back home in Vietnam, we’d be getting ready for Mid-Autumn Festival 🌕 Mooncakes, games, family time… and basically every kid’s favourite excuse to stay out and have fun :))

8AM: barely awake
12PM: somehow rolling around in the snow 😭🏂

One thing uni has taught us: be curious and just show up.

Uni is more than classes and assignments. Most of us joined VIVU without really knowing what to expect. A random event, a new face, a “why not?”, and somehow those little decisions turned into friendships, memories and days like this. 💛

Big thanks to VUSU for organising the snow trip and giving us another memory for the VIVU archive ❄️🫶

Moral of the story: join that club. Go to that event. You never know where you’ll end up 👀
