Edinburgh College is a coeducational, Early Learning to Year 12 Christian College. Situated in Lilydale in the beautiful Yarra Ranges, our College is set on a quiet, picturesque, semi-rural property. Our Year 12s brought a little Disney magic to campus yesterday for their final dress-up of the week. From heroes and princesses to some very familiar characters, they certainly finished in style! 🏰✨

There are plenty of big emotions as this chapter draws to a close. We’re so proud of the young people they have become and excited to see where God leads them next. 💙

Behind all the fun costumes is a cohort that has poured years of dedication, effort, and heart into their time here. We are going to miss you all immensely, but we take comfort in knowing that God knows each of you by name and has an incredible plan for your futures (Jeremiah 29:11).

Long-serving Associate National Director for Adventist Schools Australia (ASA), Jacques Calais has been appointed as Principal at Edinburgh College, to commence in Term 1, 2027. Jacques replaces Tanya Pascoe, who has been at the College for 18 years

Jacques has dedicated 39 years to Adventist Education, serving as a teacher, deputy principal, and principal across Victoria and Queensland before accepting the role of Schools Improvement Officer with Adventist Schools Australia (ASA) in 2012. Since April 2018, he has served as Associate National Education Director for ASA, providing leadership and support to schools across Australia in the areas of school improvement, leadership development, and educational excellence.

This appointment marks a special homecoming for Jacques, as it will be his second tenure at Edinburgh College, having previously served at the College from 1991 to 1992. He is passionate about Adventist Education and is excited to return to the Edinburgh community at the beginning of 2027. We are extremely grateful for Jacques' service, leadership, and commitment during his tenure as Associate National Director, and we wish him God's richest blessings as he commences his new role in 2027.

As we look toward the future, we are sharing some significant news regarding our College leadership as we prepare for 2027.

After 18 years of dedicated service to Edinburgh College, our Principal, Tanya Pascoe, has decided to step down at the end of 2026. Tanya leaves a lasting legacy centred on character, nurture, and Christ-centred education.

We are thrilled to announce that Jacques Calais has been appointed as Principal, commencing in Term 1, 2027!

Jacques brings 39 years of dedicated experience in Adventist Education, having served as a teacher, deputy principal, principal, and, most recently, Associate National Education Director for Adventist Schools Australia (ASA). This appointment is a special homecoming for Jacques, who previously served at Edinburgh College from 1991 to 1992.

We are equally delighted to welcome Krysten Rowe to the Edinburgh College Leadership Team as Head of Secondary starting in Term 1, 2027!

Joining us with an extensive background in secondary education, curriculum leadership with the QCAA, and middle management, most recently as Assistant Head of Department for the Arts (P-12) and Strategic Intention Leader at Brisbane Boys’ College, Krysten brings deep expertise in policy, mentoring, and school culture.

The magnificent Immaculate Conception Cathedral on Apia’s foreshore is a breathtaking blend of grand architecture, intricate craftsmanship and distinctly Samoan influence.

From its soaring blue and white exterior to the extraordinary timberwork and detail within, every corner reflects the care, skill and reverence poured into its creation.

Whatever our denomination, there is something powerful about seeing faith expressed through architecture on this scale. A beautiful landmark in the heart of Apia. 🇼🇸✨

You’ve seen the incredible time we’ve been having in Samoa 🇼🇸💛 But this is what we’re really here for.

Behind the scenes, our students have been hard at work serving wherever they can. 🔨🌺

Building picnic tables for the playground, putting together swing sets, painting the staff room, picking up rubbish, cleaning the school grounds and tackling plenty of other jobs along the way.

It hasn’t always been easy, but our students have shown such grace, resilience and a willingness to serve. We came here hoping to make a difference, and our prayer is that we leave having given even more than we’ve received from this incredibly generous community. 💛

Three more days. Plenty more to do. 💪🇼🇸
