We collaborate with researchers and small to large enterprise to translate research discoveries into successful products and services that benefit society, the economy and sustainability. Since its creation in 1969, Newcastle Innovation has facilitated the transfer of knowledge, technology and scientific research from the University to commercial partners. We achieve this by linking the University

's specialist research to industry and securing investment dollars to commercialise innovative technology developed within the institution. We provide an efficient and effective commercial interface that focuses on:

* Identification, protection and commercialisation of novel technologies developed by the University's researchers
* Delivery of specialist research services to industry and government
* Access to the expert knowledge base that exists within the University of Newcastle
* Promotion of the University of Newcastle's world-class scientific research and commercialisation activities to potential research sponsors and collaborators, licensees or investors
* The professional management of these activities ensures that the economic value is fully identified, captured and distributed to the various stakeholders.

We are looking for five groups to take part in a Newcastle-based cohort at Three76 Hub in early 2017 of CSIRO's ON Program, a part-time pre-accelerator that helps researchers validate their research and discover a real-world application for it. Newcastle Innovation will be exhibiting with The University of Newcastle and NIER at the inaugural Greater Hunter Makers Festival on Friday 11th to Saturday 12th of November at the Newcastle Jockey Club. Come along to see practical examples of some of the University's new technologies, speak to our researchers, or hear presentations about the role of engineering and applied science in the regional innovation ecosystem.
