Let's get some regional voices in the mix: Are you renting? Do you live in South Australia? Are you between the ages of 18 and 29? Or do you know someone who fits these criteria? The Don Dunstan Foundation's research team is seeking data to inform policy recommendations for their 2026 Don Dunstan Foundation Housing Symposium. Take the survey here: https://lnkd.in/g9F42Xsr

Rereading your notes might feel productive, but it isn't the most effective way to revise. Instead, close the book or the tab, and try to recall. Write out what you remember, explain it like you would to someone else in your life, sketch it out on a piece of paper or use one of our whiteboards here at BRUC. Where you get stuck will show you exactly what needs more work.

A new article by Maphotoa, Giray and Sevnarayan in the journal Assessing Writing discusses AI detection bias in multilingual student writing. Some students who learned English as a second (or third!) language here at BRUC have also noticed some bias from AI-detection software. Self care tip: sleep can be study. It's tempting to trade sleep for study hours, but your brain consolidates what you've learned while you sleep. A regular bedtime will do more for exam results than a 2am cram session. This week, try setting a 'screens off' time and sticking to it.

Final assessments sneaking up? The best first step is to get a calendar and see what you have to work with. When is the due date? What days and blocks of time do you have to get the assessment or the revising done? Turn one intimidating deadline into a manageable plan.
You can block out time for study work in your calendar, and protect that time. You can even make the most of it by coming to lock in at BRUC... we'd love to see you!
