ᯓ★ Our first pitch night of the year is done and dusted!!! It was so lovely to see both new and familiar faces come together to pitch, vote, and share their ideas. Huge kudos to everyone who got up and pitched, you all should be very proud!!

ᯓ★ Big congrats to our winners, they’ll be officially announced in the coming week, so keep an eye on our socials. We’ll also be posting a full list of everyone who pitched, their ideas, and contact details, so if a project caught your eye, you’ll have everything you need to reach out and help bring it to life.

ᯓ★ For those who didn’t win this time please don’t be discouraged. Your stories and ideas still matter, and we can’t wait to see them come to life.

➫ So, we heard you’ve got a film you want to make? A script? Or maybe you want to meet your next collaborator? If this is the case, UMFC’s upcoming Pitch Night is the night for you!

ᯓ★ WHAT TO EXPECT: Filmmakers of all levels pitching their short film ideas to a room full of cinephiles. By the end of the night, 3 pitches get picked, and made over the coming year. Also, you will be able to help yourself to some delicious pizza and refreshments, all on us!!

ᯓ★ CAN I PITCH MY IDEA?: Yes! All UMFC members can, so if you’re a student from another uni or even a graduate, come along and go for the gold!

It’s a tradition and an honour for us to welcome a new wave of creatives, visionaries, story weavers, dreamers and film lovers into the UMFC family every semester.
Join us for a chill night at the pub with film chats and creative chaos. We’ll introduce what UMFC is all about, share highlights from past club projects, and give you the inside scoop on what’s coming up including Pitch Night, workshops and other fun events!

🚨THIS JUST IN!! EXCLUSIVE STUDENT FILM SCREENING???🚨

Are you ready for a taste of this semester’s student films? Do you like networking with likeminded film enjoyers? Then come join the UMFC and other filmmakers and enthusiasts on November 18th from 5-8PM at Glyn Davis B117 for an exclusive screening of Demure (2025), directed by Joel Gn and produced by UMFC this semester!

Join us as we wrap up the semester with not only a screening but a Behind-the-Scenes and QnA presentation after the screening. Of course, there will be 🍕 and 🥤 provided and who can say no to free food? Drop by not only for the screening but the chance to network yourself with other likeminded individuals regardless of if you’re a club member or not!

🚨 Williamstown Film Day is LOCKED IN! 🚨

Ready for an epic day of filmmaking, teamwork, and seaside vibes? 🎬🌊

We’ll be heading out to Williamstown on Thursday, 28 November for a full-day shoot — from 10AM to 8PM (including travel time). We’ll meet at uni first, then catch the train together.

You’ll be split into teams based on attendance, and after filming, you’ll get a full day to edit your masterpiece. Then, we’ll all reunite on Saturday, 30 November at uni for a film screening + pizza night! 🍕
