Year 10 students enjoyed an exciting and educational day at Luna Park, where learning was combined with fun. This integrated English and Science excursion provided students with the opportunity to engage firsthand with key concepts from their studies, including engineering principles and visual representation. Within this dynamic setting, students explored the science behind the rides and attractions—such as forces, motion, and energy—while enhancing their English skills through observation, analysis, and communication activities. The cohort also valued the chance to connect with one another in a lively, enjoyable atmosphere. We are incredibly proud of the mature and respectful way they represented their school throughout the day.

Year 9 English students had a wonderful day at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, immersing themselves in an enriching educational experience. This excursion offered a valuable opportunity to deepen their understanding of how artists express ideas about people, identity, places, and connections to Country and the wider world. Our students also enjoyed connecting with one another in a unique and inspiring environment. We are extremely proud of the mature and respectful way they represented their school throughout the day.

Year 7 GRC Penshurst B Debating Team competed against Sylvania High B in an exciting first round of the Regional Premier’s Debating Challenge. Both teams discussed the topic, “That we should build more public housing in wealthy suburbs” with Penshurst B debating on the negative side. Datri, the first speaker, presented arguments regarding the potential disadvantages of public housing in wealthy areas, followed by Nivedya as second speaker, Hyridya as third speaker and Bhavika as fourth speaker. The team delivered confident and well-structured speeches and responded effectively to the opposing team's arguments throughout the debate. After a strong and closely contested debate, the GRC Penshurst Year 7 B team emerged victorious!

Our Year 9 students studying Japanese, enjoyed a day at the Tanken Centre immersing themselves in the Japanese language and culture.

Congratulations to Mariam of Year 10 for winning Gold and Silver at the National Taekwondo Championships in Perth over the weekend. Mariam achieved Gold in both pattern and sparring and Silver in special technique.
Fantastic achievement Mariam, your dedication and hard work has paid off! Well done!

Year 7 GRC Penshurst B Debating Team competed against GRC Peakhurst B in an exciting third and final round of the Premier’s Debating Challenge. Both teams discussed the topic, “That Australia should have a 4-day work week,” with Penshurst B debating on the negative side. Zara, the first speaker, presented arguments regarding the potential disadvantages of a four-day work week, followed by Bhavika as second speaker, Hyridya as third speaker and Nivedya as chairperson. The team delivered confident and well-structured speeches and responded effectively to the opposing team's arguments throughout the debate. After a strong and closely contested debate, the GRC Penshurst Year 7 B team emerged victorious!

GRC Penshurst Campus Year 10 A team faced the Year 9 B team in an exciting debate. Both teams debated the topic, “Police should never carry weapons,” with the Year 10s arguing the negative and the Year 9s arguing the affirmative. Both teams presented well-researched arguments and delivered outstanding speeches, resulting in a very close and engaging debate. The Year 9 B team focused on issues surrounding inequality and the misuse of police weapons, while the Year 10 A team argued about police authority in society and their responsibility to serve and protect. After an exhilarating debate, the Year 10 A team emerged victorious. Congratulations to both teams for their excellent preparation, teamwork and impressive performances!

Congratulations to Year 8 debating team on completing all three rounds of the Premier's Debating Challenge.
Today, Daksha, Sheyda, Zoe and Nicole competed in Round 3 against GRC Peakhurst Campus as the negative team. Their topic was "Whether Under -18s should vote if they pass a politics test"
We also acknowledge Beth, Aariana and Lara for their contributions across the competition.
We are proud of their preparation, confidence, teamwork and willingness to challenge themselves.
They represented our school with pride.
