Congratulations and best of luck to Katie Gray (Year 8, Trumpet) who has been selected to perform in the 2026 Sydney Southeast Symphonic Winds program.

Sydney Southeast Symphonic Winds (SSSW) is a concert band consisting of more than 100 students from over 50 public schools in the Sydney area. It is also one of the leading NSW Department of Education ensembles! Students who perform in this ensemble need to get through a special audition to be accepted.

These students will showcase their talents at the Sydney Opera House in August!

We wish Katie all the very best.

Our Year 8 English students enjoyed a joyful, fast-paced Sport for Jove’s production of ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ which brought Shakespeare’s language and themes to life in a way that was engaging and unforgettable.

It was a perfect production that was full of heart, humour and theatrical magic.

Thank you to Ms Ardati for organising, and to all the English teachers for contributing so wholeheartedly for our students.

And that’s a wrap for another incredible year at Big Band Blast!

Over the past three days, our Stage Band students immersed themselves in an exciting program designed to ignite their passion for music and broaden their musical horizons.

Students participated in intense skill-based workshops covering everything from jazz improvisation to ensemble playing.

One of the highlights was the group performance workshop led by legendary musician, John Morrison. Our students had a chance to work closely with John, gaining hands-on experience and expert insight into the art of performing as a large ensemble.

Throughout the event, the students also had multiple opportunities to showcase their skills in live performances. Each day brought new challenges, inspiration, and friendships.

A massive congratulations to the five Penshurst students who attended-your dedication, skill and enthusiasm truly shone throughout the festival.
