๐ฉต For Every Child, On Fatherโs Day ๐
For the fathers who are near,
the fathers who are far,
the fathers whose hands we hold,
and those we remember in our hearts.
Today is Fatherโs Day,
a day for celebrating love.
But love does not always arrive
in the shape we expect.
Sometimes it is a Dad
who wakes us in the morning,
makes us laugh at the dinner table,
teaches us how to be brave,
and reminds us to try again
when something feels too hard.
Sometimes it is a Grandad,
an Uncle, a Godfather,
a Mum, a grandmother,
a teacher, a family friend,
or someone who simply chooses to stand beside a child again and again.
Sometimes the person who teaches us
how to ride a bicycle is also teaching us
that falling down is not the end.
The person who listens to our little stories
is teaching us that our voice matters.
The person who holds our hand
when we are afraid is teaching us
that we do not have to face everything alone.
And the person who believes in us
before we have learned to believe in ourselves
may leave a lesson in our hearts that lasts a lifetime.
So today, we remember that being a father
is not only about being present in a photograph.
It is about being present in a childโs life.
It is about the small moments ๐งธ the conversations, the silly jokes, the bedtime stories, the school runs, the scraped knees, the celebrations, the difficult days and all those ordinary moments that become precious memories when children grow older. ๐ฉท
๐ For every child who has their father beside them, may they treasure every moment.
๐ For every child whose father is far away,
may they know that distance does not erase love.
For every child whose father cannot be there,
may their heart still be surrounded by people who love them, guide them and help them become who they are meant to be. ๐ฅฐ
And for every child who wonders what a father should teach them, perhaps the answer is simple: ๐
Teach them kindness.
Teach them courage.
Teach them honesty.
Teach them how to care.
Teach them how to apologise.
Teach them how to forgive.
Teach them how to stand back up.
Teach them how to love others without losing themselves.
And, most importantly, teach them that they are loved.
Because one day, children may not remember
every present they received.
They may not remember every Fatherโs Day card they made. ๐ค
But they will remember who came to watch them. ๐ซถ
Who listened.
Who encouraged them.
Who celebrated their little victories.
Who made them feel safe.
Who showed them, through everyday actions, what love looks like.
And perhaps that is the greatest gift any grown-up can give a child:
not a perfect childhood,
but a childhood filled with people
who showed up with love.
So this Fatherโs Day,
let us celebrate every person
who has helped a child grow.
Every hand that has held theirs.
Every voice that has encouraged them.
Every heart that has made room for them.
Every person who has quietly said, through their actions,
โI am here. โค๏ธ
You matter.
You are loved.
And I believe in you.โ
Because children do not grow from one personโs love alone.
They grow from a whole circle of love ๐ from families, friends and communities, from the people who stay, the people who guide, and the people who teach them how beautiful it is to care for another person.
And to every child reading this: ๐ง
Look around you.
Notice the people who love you.
Learn from their kindness.
Carry their good lessons with you.
And one day, give that same love to someone else.
For the greatest legacy we can leave a child
is not what we give them,
but what we teach their heart
to give to the world.
๐ค A Fatherโs Day blessing ๐
May every child have someone
who believes in them,
someone who listens to them,
someone who guides them,
someone who celebrates them,
and someone who reminds them
that they never have to earn love.
And may every child know
that even when someone they love
cannot stand beside them ๐ค
the love, lessons and memories they have received can travel with them wherever life takes them.
โจ Happy Fatherโs Day ๐
to the fathers, father figures, and all the beautiful people who help children grow.
๐ง Your greatest gift may never be something a child can hold in their hands ๐จ ..it may be the person they become because you loved them. ๐ค
