Applications for the KRC Honours scholarships close soon! Please don't miss out an opportunity to have your Honours year supported by a generous grant from the AKS.

The KRC Scholarship (Scholarship) aims to designed to provide financial support for Curtin Honours students, who have an interest in completing a Korea-focused humanities of social sciences dissertation topic. Students must be enrolled in a dissertation research unit and be working toward a Korean Studies (or clearly Korea-focused) dissertation on a broadly defined humanities or social sciences topic, and be supervised by one of the Korea Research and Engagement Centre (KRC) academic staff or associates. The purpose is to encourage students to consider further research in Korean Studies.

Recipients of the scholarship will be expected to actively engage with the Korea Research & Engagement Centre project and help to support the Korean Studies student peer learning community activities.

The Scholarship is supported by the Core University Program for Korean Studies through the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Korea and Korean Studies Promotion Service of the Academy of Korean Studies (AKS-2022-OLU- 2250005).

Thinking about a Bachelor of Arts? Here’s why Korean Studies is the perfect add-on:

A Bachelor of Arts at Curtin lets you combine majors—and Korean Studies is one of the best to pair with almost anything.

Why? Because it gives you a real edge. Alongside your main major, you’ll learn Korean language skills and gain insight into one of the world’s most dynamic cultures—from K-pop culture and media to business, politics and society.

You don’t need any prior experience, but by the end you’ll have something extra that makes you stand out: intercultural skills, global awareness, and the confidence to work across borders.

Korean Studies works well with majors in international relations, business, commerce; media, journalism, education, screen arts, anthropology and sociology and beyond—opening up opportunities in global careers, government, industry and the creative sector.

Bachelor of Arts students Matylda, Max and Caitlin were able to tai...
