The power of white! The colour white in Feng Shui represents strength and confidence, as well as clarity and focus.

It opens the energy in a space and helps your home feel more peaceful and organised.

It supports the West section of your home to protect your family, children, as well as your wealth, and the North West section of your home to invite mentors and helpful people into your life.

Balance is key! Each room in your home should have a balance of yin and yang – dark and light.

If a room is mostly kept in darkness, the energy is too yin; it needs light.

If a room is hit with direct sunlight daily, keep the noise down in there to bring in yin energy.

But there is so much more to know and WHY yin and yang are so important!

All this and MORE in my online presentation ‘Understanding Feng Shui & Energy’.

A friend asked me if it is ok to have one Jade plant at the front door and one at the back door.

Jade in Feng Shui is regarded as a symbol of wealth and good fortune, and the point is to have it rather than not!

Feng Shui advises that two Jade plants, one on either side of your front door, are best, but only if there is room - don’t overcrowd the energy. You can have just one.

There is no issue with having Jade at your back door or in your back garden - ensure it doesn’t block the door.

It can be potted or planted directly into the ground.

It can also be kept inside the house. The best locations are South East and East, but not in a bedroom, toilet, bathroom, or laundry room.

The power of yellow! The colour yellow in Feng Shui represents patience, steadfastness, and your ability to accept adversity.

It helps create warmth and stability in a space and brings a grounded and nurturing quality to a home.

It supports the North East to enhance your learning, knowledge and educational endeavours, and the South West to enhance your love, romance and marriage efforts.

October is represented by the Dog Zodiac according to Chinese Astrology.

Dogs are loyal, caring and helpful. They are always on the lookout in their surroundings.

Take heed of the Dog's watchful ability, as the month brings stronger competition and financial strain.

Wealth energy is subdued, making it a difficult period for investments. It’s best to avoid market risks.

However, completion luck is on hand. It will be a great month to finish off projects previously started. Patience, discipline, and sensible decision-making will be far more valuable now than bold new ventures, as a measured approach is likely to provide greater security.

The energy will be different in November. If you can move through this month’s energy with care, you will be in a better position for the remaining months of the Horse year.

Did you know your garden plays a part in your Feng Shui, too?

Easy gardening tipsinclude:

• Plants should have round leaves, not spiky, as their sharpness emits hostile energy.
• Place trees along your back fence line to act as a protective barrier.
• Ensure your garden isn’t neglected, as overgrown trees and plants can block opportunities from entering your life.

Your outside formation, along with your inside formation, is part of your home’s Feng Shui and affects your life.

2026 is a Fire element year, and we are currently in Period 9 of Feng Shui (2024 to 2044), which is also represented by the Fire element.

This year is a Yang Fire year, and the energy has been particularly hot! I know lots of people have felt it. It’s been exciting and productive, but it’s also intense and overwhelming.

While doors to growth, opportunity, and expansion were all possible this year and still are, pressure on the nervous system can also follow – your mind and body can agonise.

There are still a few months of this energy left.

To help you get through, take the time out for more rest, more calm, more stillness.

Spend more time in places that naturally settle the nervous system, such as quiet gardens, parks, the beach, or any peaceful outdoor space.

Sit under a tree, watch water, listen to birds, do something where you simply sit in stillness.

Did you know…? If you have a home office setup, positioning your desk against an appropriate wall is best, as it provides support.

Ensure you are not sitting with the door or window behind you. If this is not possible, sit on a high-back chair. This gives the illusion of support.

You can also add a picture of a mountain on the wall behind you; this is also symbolic of support.

There is so much more to know about your room setup - all of them!

As I’ve moved through this year’s energy, I have felt blessed that the Universe guided me to Feng Shui all those years ago.

I say blessed because the knowledge I have has helped me navigate the year’s intensity. There have been times this year when I have felt ‘in a hurry’. In a hurry to finish things off and get to the next. But nothing has been crucial enough to have detrimental effects. It’s just been a feeling.

That’s what horses do – they gallop! For me, the Fire Horse’s energy has had fast momentum with a sense of urgency. But knowing this has helped me centre myself.

I have been able to calm my mind. I have had rest and recuperation days. I have spent time with nurturing friends. I have done things that have soothed my soul.

2027 is Year of the Goat, and while it will be another Fire element year, the energy will be different – really different.

As always, you will need to be prepared. I will be sharing everything you need to know for a successful 2027 at my seminar next year.

If you would like these details, head to my website and join my mailing list so you don’t miss my 2027 seminar ticket release.
