Last Saturday, 3 October 2026, the Melbourne team had the pleasure of hosting our very first Graduation Meet-Up 2026—a truly special milestone for all of us!

The event brought together alumni who have successfully completed our Professional Year (PY) program since its introduction in Melbourne. It was wonderful to reconnect, hear about their experiences, and reflect on their journeys with the National Institute of Technology (NIT).

For us as an education provider, there is something incredibly rewarding about seeing where our graduates are today—particularly their progress in the Australian workforce. After all, one of the key objectives of the Professional Year program is to help graduates build the skills, confidence, professional networks and opportunities they need to take their next step towards employment in Australia.

As part of our Latin America roadshow, the National Institute of Technology team took part in 𝗪𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗔𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗮 𝗗𝗮𝘆, showcasing WA as a study destination and everything Perth has to offer: quality education, a welcoming multicultural community, city life, beaches and great professional development opportunities

🤝 The event gave education providers the chance to present their courses and student support. For NIT, it was a chance to connect with agency partners, answer their questions and talk about how we can support students considering WA.

🎤 We also joined a panel discussion on Australia's different states at 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗼 𝗩𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲 𝗔𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗮 in Colombia 🇨🇴 NIT's Ignacio Medina represented Western Australia and StudyPerth, helping attendees understand what each destination offers international students.

☀️ At the StudyPerth stand, we were pleased to join Andrew O. in chatting with prospective students about living and studying in Perth. Hearing their questions and plans was one of the highlights of the event.

Our students enjoyed some meaningful conversations, delicious treats and a little time to connect. 💛

At NIT, we believe creating a supportive, welcoming environment starts with looking out for each other. Taking the time to check in, listen and show kindness can help someone feel supported and connected.

Sometimes, simply asking "𝐀𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐎𝐊?" is a great place to start.

Australian Education & Innovation Summit | Bogotá & Mexico City

The National Institute of Technology (NIT) was proud to take part in the Australian Education & Innovation Summit in both Colombia and Mexico.

It was a great chance to connect with Australian education providers, local institutions and schools, education agents and industry leaders, and to explore new opportunities for collaboration and student mobility.

The program brought together discussions on:

🤝 Education partnerships and student mobility between Australia, Colombia and Mexico
🌏 International education, talent and global opportunities
🏫 Building stronger links between local institutions and Australian providers
💡 Transnational education, innovation and future collaboration

A big thank you to Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) Nathalia Plested, Laura Díaz Mangas and Camilo Pena, the Australian Embassies in Colombia and Mexico, StudyPerth, Western Australia, Study Melbourne, Study Queensland, and all the organisers, speakers and partners who brought the sector together.

At the National Institute of Technology (NIT), we are proud to continue strengthening our collaboration with Murdoch University through our Pathway Partnership, creating additional opportunities for eligible international students to progress from vocational education to higher education and towards their professional goals.

Eligible international students who meet the applicable entry and admission requirements of both the National Institute of Technology and Murdoch University may be eligible to receive a packaged offer and CoE for:

ICT50220 Diploma of Information Technology (CRICOS Code: 105263D) with B1390 Bachelor of Information Technology (CRICOS Code: 102605M)

The NIT qualifications included in this pathway are:

🔹 ICT50220 Diploma of Information Technology (Advanced Networking)
🔹 ICT50220 Diploma of Information Technology (Cyber Security)
🔹 ICT50220 Diploma of Information Technology (Front-End Web Development)

Eligible students who complete one of the above qualifications may be eligible for up to 24 credit points (equivalent to 1.0 year) at Murdoch University towards the B1390 Bachelor of Information Technology.

Available specialisations include:
🔹 Artificial Intelligence and Autonomous Systems
🔹 Business Information Systems
🔹 Computer Science
🔹 Cyber Security and Forensics
🔹 Internetworking and Network Security

As part of our ongoing collaboration, we were delighted to recently visit Murdoch University and continue discussions around the pathway and the support available to students as they progress into higher education.

A special thank you to Natalie Johnston, Suzie Xu, Jinjin Li and Ronny Wo from the Pathways & Partners Team, who warmly welcomed us and accompanied us throughout the visit.

During our campus tour, we visited Boola Katitjin and met with Mark Ennis, Manager, Student Enquiry, and Hannah Johnston, Student Success Advisor. This allowed us to learn more about the support available to students throughout their studies and as they transition into university through this pathway.

We also had the opportunity to visit the School of Information Technology and the School of Engineering and Energy, where members of the academic teams showed us the facilities, technology and learning environments available to students as they continue their education at Murdoch University.

A big thank you to the Murdoch University team for the warm welcome and for sharing our commitment to creating meaningful education pathways for international students.

Our Professional Year students at the Campus recently participated in an Industry Interview Event, engaging directly with industry professionals through mock interviews and receiving practical feedback to strengthen their interview skills and professional confidence.
