Join us as we celebrate the first event for 2024 in Cullity Gallery at the UWA School of Design, for the launch of Mediated Process, curated by Sarah Douglas and Elizabeth Pedler, featuring the work of artists from Australia, Germany, Sweden, Korea and Russia. Artists include: John Carberry (Australia), Håkan Carlbrand, Gustav Hellberg, Johanna Karlin, Peter Ojstersek, and Linda Petersson Ödbring (Sweden), Rebecca Ann Tess (Germany), Borahm Kim (Korea), Roman Korzhov and Nelya Korzhova (Russia).

This new exhibition offers insight into the ways of working shared by 10 artists across different artforms, such as film, digital art, performance, drawing, painting and printmedia, from regional and remote locations, connected by an online platform (www.intheprocessof.org), and a unique dialogical process of making. Coinciding with the Perth Arts Festival, and accompanied by an extensive public program, Mediated Process delves deeply into process-based making from regional perspectives.

YEAR 10, 11 & 12 SUMMER ARCHITECTURE AND LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE WORKSHOPS 2024
Interested in studying Architecture or Landscape Architecture?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
UWA School of Design invites students who completed Year 10, 11 or 12 in 2023 to attend our Summer Architecture and Landscape Architecture Workshops.
Architecture and Landscape Architecture are the conceptualisation, design and management of our natural and built forms and landscapes in response to social, environmental, economic and technological contexts, needs and objectives that benefit communities and the future health of the planet.
This three-day workshop will give secondary school students an insight into the study of Architecture and Landscape Architecture, and an introduction to our teachers and practitioners who can provide advice about courses and careers in the built environment. The workshop will introduce participants to typical student projects, methods and skills. Most helpfully, participants will meet and interact with current students and staff in the Architecture and Landscape Architecture programs at UWA and have access to the spaces and equipment on campus.

Dates: 23rd - 25th January 2024, 9.30am - 1.00pm
Location: UWA School of Design

The workshops are free, and all materials will be supplied by the School.

On Wed 6 Nov we welcomed 30 students from Swan View Senior High School to UWA to take part in an immersion day as part of our Electronic Music and Sound Design Showcase.

The students took part in workshops led by UWA Music and UWA School of Design staff, as well as exploring the diverse projects in the exhibition.

Thanks for Ms Whelan from Swan View who orgnanised the trip - we hope your students found it inspiring!
