Want to write? Looking for inspiration, guidance or encouragement? Looking to connect with like-minded people? We also host workshops and presentations.

We meet on Wednesday morning 9.30-11.30 each week at Armadale Library. $5 per session. Meeting each Wednesday from 9.30am-11.30am at Armadale Library, our friendly group is made up of published authors, hobby writers, people who want to try their hand at something new, and everything in between. Each member is encouraged to take a turn to lead the group bringing fresh approaches each week to our writing exercises. We also have guest speakers from time to time. The weekly cost is $5, which covers room hire plus tea and coffee. For more info, contact [email protected]. You're welcome to join us any time, and you don't have to commit to coming every week. You'll find us in the meeting room of the Armadale Library, at Armadale Central Shopping Centre on Orchard Avenue. We don't provide editing or proofreading services, as these are beyond the scope of the group. These are professional services, charged accordingly. However if you'd like feedback on a longer piece of writing, you're welcome to ask a member of the group to review it - we're always willing to help each other out. Listen to Heritage FM 107.3 this Sunday (4th October). We're going to be talking about reading because, after all, where would we writers be without readers. So we had an in house competition which was kindly judged by Gareth Dixon, Manager of Libraries and Heritage for the City of Armadale. The subject was Seasons. Here you see our winner, Kelvin White, receiving his magnificent trophy, our runner up, Mario Pollacchi and another entrant Peter Searle. Two other entrants, Caren Pollacchi and Gavin Downes were not at the presentation this morning.

Today we talked to Patricia Olsson and Stargazer about their book. It's a beautiful story and if you would like a copy Stargazer has his own page. We also managed, for the first time, with a slight hitch, to perform our first telephone interview. We talked to Ray Doyle from the Karrinyup Writers' Club about his poems and short stories.
