HSE Student Club Curtin

Good Afternoon HSE SC.
My name is Fletcher Sheppard and I am your current HSE Student Club Curtin President, and I have some exciting news.

Next Thursday the 10th of August at 3:30pm @ The Tav we will have our first event for this semester.

I am calling a Special General Meeting or SGM. At the SGM all executive positions will be vacated and re-nominated. So to save time I will be excepting any early expressions of interest via email - [email protected]. This includes President, Treasurer, and Secretary. If there is enough interest a Vice-President can be elected as well but, is not necessary. I will be running for President again, but welcome anyone who would like a crack at the job.

After a meeting this afternoon with Club Support, I have been made aware of several great opportunities that this club can take advantage of. But I need help. So please if you can come along and show some support for the club, it would be greatly appreciated.

Also, the clubs "tidyhq" page (through the guild) is back up and running. So any new members that have not yet signed up through the guild please follow the link and sign up. https://guild.curtin.edu.au/club/6562/

Moving forward that will be the best way of staying in touch with the club, but all events and job opportunities will all still be posted on Facebook as well.

After the SGM, we will hang out for a meet and greet so that we can begin to grow as a club.

Westforce Construction is currently looking for a HSEQ Graduate. If you have recently graduated or are in your final year of studies, do consider making an application for this role. I've got a casual job opportunity for a current HSE student to work with the Curtin University Health & Safety Team. The role will be for 1-2 days per week and is a paid entry-level opportunity suitable for all students to apply. The successful applicant will work and learn from a team of HSE professionals at the Curtin University campus.

Work tasks will include:
- Assist with HSE plan development
- Contractor management using Curtin's RAPID system
- Reviewing asbestos audits
- Updating the HAZMAT database
- Assist with developing HSE audits

- To be a current HSE student
- Ability to work independently
- Preferably has previous internship or work experience

Hi Everyone,

Fremantle Ports is expanding their HSE team and is looking to hire a part-time HSE Admin. This would be a suitable role for current students completing a BSc (Health, Safety and Environment). The role will offer flexible hours (20-25hrs/week) and will be paid $35/hour. You will assist the Safety Development Officer in the administration and management of the permit to work system.

Training will be provided to complete the following tasks:
- Review permit to work and risk management documents.
- Maintain accurate data entry in the Permit to Work register.
- Communicate the Permit to Work register with employees.
- Maintain records for hazard identification and general inspection documents.

Allseas is currently looking for a recent graduate to join their Perth-based team in a full-time Environmental Advisor role with occasional site trips to offshore site facilities. Fremantle Ports currently have a part-time position available for a student currently completing a Bachelor of Science (Health, Safety and Environment). The part-time position is 20-25hrs/week and offers flexible hours to accommodate your studies.

The successful candidate would join the Permit Management Office Team to assist in the day-to-day management of the permit to work system based at their heavy industry facilities in Kwinana.
