💙 Learning Beyond the Classroom | Our Students on Work Placement

At ABS College, learning doesn’t stop when our students leave the classroom.

Our CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing & Disability) students are currently completing their work placement, putting their knowledge and practical skills into action in real care environments.

As part of our commitment to supporting students throughout their journey, our assessors regularly visit them at their placement facilities to observe their progress, conduct assessments, provide guidance and check in on how they are settling into the workplace.

These visits are an important part of bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world care; and it is always rewarding to see our students growing in confidence, competence and professionalism as they work alongside experienced care teams. 💙

A big thank you to our placement partners, workplace supervisors and assessors for the continued support you provide to our students.

💙 CARE Conversations | Connecting Students with Industry

At ABS College, we believe preparing for a career in care is about more than what happens in the classroom. It’s also about learning from the people who live and breathe the industry every day.

As part of our monthly CARE Conversations, we invite experienced aged care professionals to our campus to meet our CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing & Disability) students and share their knowledge, experiences and real-world insights.

Yesterday, we were delighted to welcome Ray, Clinical Manager from St Francis Hostel, to ABS College.

Ray shared invaluable insights into what it is really like to work in the aged care sector; from the realities of working with residents and being part of a care team, to the qualities, attitude and professionalism employers look for in future care workers.

For our students, these conversations are an opportunity to ask questions, hear directly from industry leaders and gain a better understanding of the career they are preparing to enter.

And this isn’t a one-off event.

CARE Conversations takes place every month, bringing different industry professionals into ABS College and creating another important connection between classroom learning and the real world of care.

Our Assessors always visits our CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing & Disability) students during their work placement to observe their progress, provide guidance, and ensure they are receiving the best possible learning experience in a real workplace environment.

At ABS College, we believe that learning extends beyond the classroom. Our regular workplace visits help support our students as they develop the confidence, professionalism, and practical skills needed to succeed in the aged care and disability sectors.
