Religious & Spiritual Trauma Workshop

Churches can be profound places of belonging, hope and healing. Yet people can also experience significant harm within religious and spiritual contexts.

How can pastors and ministry leaders recognise when this has occurred - and respond in ways that are safe, wise and restorative?

Join Anu Matara, Clinical Counsellor and Author, and Steve Poisat, Pastor and Executive Minister of Churches of Christ WA, for a practical and reflective morning exploring religious and spiritual trauma and abuse.

Bringing together counselling, pastoral and theological perspectives, this workshop will help ministry leaders better understand spiritual trauma, respond wisely to those who have experienced harm, and help create healthier church communities that support healing and restoration.

As Keller suggests, work wasn’t the curse. Toil was. From the beginning, God created us to work, create, cultivate, and steward His world.

What a way to think about work?!

Work isn’t simply something we have to do. It’s part of what we were created to do.

So whether you’re in the classroom, the office, the workshop, the home, or church ministry - your work has purpose.

Your work matters to God.
And when it’s done for His glory, even the ordinary can become an act of worship🙌

What legacy are we leaving?

In Acts 13:36, we're told that David "served God's purpose in his own generation."

That's a powerful vision for every believer.

Not fame.
Not success.
Not recognition.
Simply faithfulness.

God calls each of us to serve Him in our generation with the opportunities, gifts, and relationships we've been given.

As this series concludes, reflect on this question:
