I have finally taken the hard decision to close my business as a marriage celebrant. Over the years since I first registered in 2009, it has been my privilege to share in the special days of many clients, and I will continue to treasure the memories I have gathered along the way.

Two years ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I was lucky. The cancer had not spread beyond the sentinel lymph nodes and was treatable. Recovery from the treatment has taken time, and somewhere along the way I came to the realisation that I no longer had the energy to continue providing my services as civil marriage celebrant. Consequently I will be resigning my registration at the end of June.

I don't know exactly what it is that I want to do next, but I am certain it will continue to include elements of ritual and ceremony, as well as fostering connection and community in creative ways.

I want to conclude by thanking all those who have been part of my celebrant journey, and wishing you every blessing for the future. May you know the contentment of having a quiet heart, supportive people around you, and the opportunity to treasure whatever moments of loving connection come your way.

As someone whose intimate partner has come out as transgender, is currently making his way through the arduous but rewarding process of medical transition, I can totally see the benefits of having a ceremony to affirm your new identity, at any stage of your gender-identity transition that feels right for you.

Yes, its been quiet for a while with all the COVID precautions.. I know some folks are currently thinking about their aspirations for the coming summer or later next year, and wondering what will be possible?
I don't have predictive clairvoyant gifts that would enable me to see exactly what is coming, but I do want you to know that your ceremony doesn't need a huge crowd of witnesses in order to be meaningful and memorable 💓.
I'm flexible and happy to adapt and adjust my services to fit whatever situation we may find ourselves in next year. Please dont hesitate to get in touch if you'd like to have a chat about your ceremony wishes and dreams. 🙂
