A broad range of courses in music disciplines, from solo/group performance to technical production and music ind

ustry is offered at NCAT. Students can elect to study Music as a specialisation or as an elective within VCE, VCAL, or VET streams. Combinations of these can be tailored to suit the individual student. The Integrated VCAL Music course is designed to allow students to focus on Music, covering both performance skills, and technical production skills. It encourages self expression and collaboration, using many different processes and tools, from instruments and computers, to voices and electronic equipment. Opportunities are available for diverse and inclusive styles of performance, organised in a student oriented way, in professional venues. Students in the intergrated VCAL program may specialise in event organisation, song writing, and band or solo performance. Following Year 12, Certificate IV music programs provide an intensive year of study in all aspects of music, including production and promotions. Students develop a folio of work to use in order to gain work in the industry or pursue tertiary studies. These programs also form part of the VCAL Senior Extension (Folio Enhancement) qualification. This is a unique VCAA-recognised qualification offered only by 3 other colleges in Victoria.

Our CERT IV MUSIC course provides pathways into the music industry; and prepares students for further studies in music or related industries. It provides a broad foundation of knowledge of the music industry and develops real ‘transferable skills’ that can be applied in many fields of employment both within and outside the music industry. Most importantly, this course helps students develop music industry networks with like–minded learners and industry professionals.

This year's 'Scout Productions' musical theatre performance is a story about moving on.

Seven friends are sitting around after a house warming party, discussing life. They are all coping differently with their grief, after the death of one of their gang a year earlier. The conversation turns to regret, and a wish to be able to change the past.
Where would you go if you could time travel? What would you change...?

(Warnings: coarse language, minimal strobe light, content about death and grief.)
