Rosny College is a senior secondary college in Hobart, Tasmania and is an inspiring and empowering learning community. We maximise the diverse learning outcomes of our students by providing high-quality teaching in which you will be supported in developing and achieving your goals. We cater for all students who wish to continue their education; however, our prime target group is the students movin

g from Year 10 into Years 11 and 12 and we welcome them regardless of their ability. Rosny College offers to all students challenge, excitement and reward and allows you to develop new friendships. It can set you on your pathway to a future career or further education! The current principal of Rosny College is Andrew Woodham.

💜WEAR IT PURPLE DAY💜
We saw lots of purple around the college last Friday for Wear It Purple Day.
WIP Day is a national awareness day that celebrates and supports our LGBTIQA+ young people.
This day celebrates Rosny College as a place where everyone feels safe, supported, and welcome.
We had some fun with crafts, photo props and freebies at recess and lunch, and enjoyed delicious purple cake thanks to students and staff from our tourism class!

Over 400 students, 20 schools and 10 languages- that was last Friday at Rosny College!

The Eastern Shore schools got together to celebrate language learning and send the message that learning a languages is great for your brain, for yourself and for the world. Ask your school how you can start learning a language today!

Thanks to all the staff and students who organised the day. It was a fantastic event.

Recess – Trivia in the Library: test your knowledge of music & literature; treats provided, prizes to be won!
Lunch – DRESS UP Party in Common Room: follow the Yellow-Brick Road for free snacks; prizes for best-dressed; scavenger hunt; Rosny Spirit Week activities and a special immersive musical performance!

🌟TASMANIAN TRAINING AWARDS - Congratulations to our Rosny Finalists🌟

Congratulations to Emma and Cameron who have been named as finalists in the VET in Schools Student of the year category and our VET Screen and Media teacher David Tottle who is a finalist as the VET Teacher/Trainer of the Year.

Each year the Tasmanian Training Awards recognise outstanding vocational students, teachers, trainers, employers, apprentices, and training providers across Tasmania.

We wish Emma, Cameron and David well as they represent Rosny at the presentation dinner this Friday.

Did you know Rosny College has a tailored academic program?
Run through Home Group, HAP focuses on targeted support for students who wish to achieve highly in their pre-tertiary studies and pursue a university pathway.
Through HAP you can be enrolled in University Connection Programs, join the Melbourne Trip to tour Melbourne universities/academic institutions, and receive extra one on one support in your university application processes.

ROSNY ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT 🌟🎓
Earlier this year Rosny Alumnus Heath Dimsey was announced as Tasmania's 2026 Rhode Scholar. As part of the scholarship, Heath is now heading to Oxford University in the UK to study mathematical biology and mathematical ecology.

He previously attended Rosny College where he completed courses across English, Maths, Science and Music. He even played in a couple of or Rosny Musical Bands before going on to complete a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Mathematics and Chemistry from the University of Tasmania.

We are so proud of Heath's achievements, and that Rosny College could be a small part of his academic learning journey.
