The UQ Alumni Book Fair is a prime activity of Alumni Friends of The University of Queensland Inc. The book fair team known as Bookhouse meets early Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday mornings on an as needs be basis. The Alumni Friends office is generally open Tuesday-Friday (930am-1pm)

The Fair's purpose is to raise money for the Alumni Friends of UQ Inc. On average, approximately one hundred and

fifty thousand books are prepared for sale for each Book Fair. Preparation consists of sorting, classifying, pricing and packing books, not all of which are accepted for sale. Work in preparation for each Biennial Book Fair commences almost immediately after the preceding Book Fair has concluded. This work takes place within a space at the Alumni Centre.

General information

The UQ Alumni Book Fair is organised by a team of volunteers who work at the UQ Long Pocket Facility Buildings 1017B (Kurrajong) and 1016 (Banksia). Donations of books can be dropped off at any time on the St Lucia Campus in the shed at Seddon West 82E . Books sales take place every March and November, and the next of our major biennial UQ Alumni Book Sales takes place in 2019.
