Our research projects usually involve measuring brain activity (EEG) from the scalp while people complete tasks on a computer. This is a completely harml

ess/non-invasive technique. The tasks usually involve responding to a particular visual stimulus when it appears on a screen using a button press. All of our projects have received approval from the University of Tasmania research ethics committee and participation is completely confidential and anonymous. We only report group data and individuals cannot be personally identified.

Are you Paying Attention?

UTAS Cog Neuro Lab are looking at individual differences in attention and how this relates to brain activity. For this study we are particularly interested in how individual differences like personality, mental health symptoms (anxiety, OCD, ADHD), experiences (video gaming, social networking, meditation, alcohol use) might affect attention.

The research involves an online screening questionnaire and a 2-hour experimental session where you will complete some attention tasks on a computer while we measure your brain activity.

We are looking for adults (18-35 years), with no serious physical or neurological conditions, or some medication/drug use.

Reimbursement: $20 giftpay voucher (or 2 hours research credit for Psychology students)

Giddy On Up to this Virtual Reality Study
UTAS Cog Neuro Lab are exploring the differences in stress restoration within three Virtual Reality settings: horse, nature, and urban. For this study, we are particularly interested in which condition will be more relaxing for you.
The research involves an online questionnaire and a 1-hour experimental session where you will complete three stress tests and three virtual reality settings, while we measure your heart rate, skin conductance, and brain activity (EEG).
We are looking for adults (18-35 years), with normal hearing/vision, and no history of cardiac, neurological, or respiratory conditions, fainting, vertigo, seizures, claustrophobia, or any implanted devices (e.g., pacemakers).
You will receive $20 giftpay voucher (or 1.25 hour SONA research credit for Psychology students).
