Learning that goes beyond the classroom 📚

Gateway Training Academy’s School Based Education Support students recently attended WA Museum Boola Bardip to enhance their understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

The visit focused on connections to land, sea and family and was directly linked to a module within the Certificate IV in School Based Education Support, which is a Fee-Free, government-funded qualification.

Students watched videos, explored exhibits, and engaged with Museum staff, including Noongar people who generously shared their stories and experiences.

Students were also excited to meet WA State Premier Roger Cook during the visit. Mr Cook spoke with students about government funding initiatives within vocational education and training and listened to their positive learning experiences at Gateway Training Academy.

Many students shared their excitement about becoming school-based educators upon successful completion of their qualification.

✨ What does a day inside a real early learning centre look like?

Last Friday, our Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care students visited Goodstart Early Learning Thornlie, and it was an inspiring experience.

From the moment they arrived, they were welcomed into a warm and nurturing environment. The students explored beautifully prepared learning spaces that were inviting, developmentally appropriate, and full of opportunities for play-based learning.

Our future educators also observed how intentional teaching and child-led exploration shape meaningful learning — and saw first-hand the impact of a well-organised early learning environment.

Hands-On Learning in Early Childhood Education Fremantle Campus 🫶

Our Cert 3 Early Childhood Education students recently designed engaging learning experiences using real fruits and repurposed newspapers, promoting sustainability and creativity.

This approach aligns with Maria Montessori's educational philosophy, which emphasizes hands-on, self-directed learning. By using concrete objects, children are encouraged to explore, discover, and learn at their own pace, fostering independence and a deeper understanding of the world around them.

🎓Another Certificate III in Community Pharmacy Class Complete!
We’re pleased to share that another Community Pharmacy course has recently been completed at our Osborne Park campus.

Our students worked hard to complete their training and came together afterward to celebrate with some well-deserved food and big smiles all around. 👏

🎓 CHC40221 Certificate IV in School Based Education Support students in action at Perth Campus

Currently completing the CHCEDS054 unit

Students collaborated to create the rainbow serpent then painted Australian, Torres Strait Islander and Aboriginal flags to create the boarder.
The artists/students worked together to plan and attach the boarder working collaboratively and collectively to plan the design of the boarder and hang the artwork up for display.
