Animal Ecology at USC Animal Ecology at USC

This site is intended to be a place to share and learn from each others encounters with those animals both large and small that we share this fragile planet with. It is a forum to publish your best original photographs, videos, links to appropriate journal articles and written information and of course discussions on all aspects of animal ecology; ranging from microscopic organisms on up through >

species > populations > communities > ecosystems > biomes, and ultimately the biosphere. Animal Ecology uses scientific methods to investigate the intriguing diversity, distribution, abundance and interactions of animal life with other organisms within their respective physical environment. While primarily intended for students enrolled in the Bachelor of Animal Ecology Degree at the University of the Sunshine Coast in Queensland Australia, to share their unique encounters and experiences, all are welcome to join and participate as long as you are respectful and follow general social media etiquette.

Do you want to join a team and get hands-on experience in working with aquatic predators in remote locations? You will be part of a small team working with some of the most endangered species of sharks, rays and sawfish on the planet. You will learn how to conduct this research and fieldwork with these animals. You will also get out into remote areas that you would not likely be able to access by yourself. Be warned, we have a lot of fun on our expeditions. If you are a uni student, see if you can earn uni credits for your participation, as getting this โ€˜real life experienceโ€™ credited towards a course is often possible! (eg work place learning WPL).

More details in the link.

Every year, Sharks And Rays Australia hosts several research expeditions to various sites in the Gulf of Carpentaria and Cape York Peninsula. Come join us on these amazing adventures!
