Tomorrow is our AGM. If you love the club and/or want to see it continue to grow, we would love to have you join us and shape what the club will be in 2027.

There will be pizza and an opportunity to vote on changes to the constitution and who you think should lead the club.

While it may not be the most exciting event for you, It is important for the club to have a certain number of numbers attend so that we can maintain our official club status and our events remain supported by the school.

🐛 Hack the Juice Shop! 🐛

Hello everyone! This week we're swapping talks for something hands-on CTF training focused on web app hacking in containers! Want to get more hands-on with web exploitation? Join us and learn to hack Juice Shop, a deliberately vulnerable web application made by OWASP that's used worldwide to teach and practice common web exploits like SQL injection, XSS, broken authentication, and insecure APIs. We'll walk you through setting up the app in Docker, and run through a few exploits together if you get stuck!

This is a great one for anyone wanting to build practical web pentesting skills, get more comfortable with containerised environments (a staple of modern CTFs), or just have a go at breaking something in a safe, legal, intentionally-broken sandbox.

What to expect:
- Set up your own container running Juice Shop
- Hack OWASP's intentionally vulnerable app from beginner to trickier challenges
- Learn how containerised environments are used in CTFs and why they matter
- Ask questions, work together, and explore at your own pace

Got your own thing going? Bring along any other CTF challenges or hacking tools you're working on we'll have space for that too!

Hello Literally Everyone, this week we have a talk from Patrick Galligan, who works at Palo Alto! Patrick Galligan is a Solutions Consultant for Higher Education at Palo Alto Networks with over three decades of enterprise networking and cybersecurity experience globally. His technical background ranges from massive MPLS network design and enterprise wireless to zero-trust strategies, next-generation firewall infrastructure and network security. No need to bring anything extra this week, and there may be some time for some Q&A after the talk. Can’t wait to see you all there!

Intro to CTF and Linux!

Hey everyone! This Wednesday we’ll be having a workshop on CTFs and Linux, this is a workshop that is very beginner friendly, so please come along even if you’re new! Please make sure to bring a laptop, you may wish to install Linux beforehand, but we will be walking you through this on the day.

# # # What is a CTF?
CTFs are a form of puzzle which require problem solving or hacking skills to find/create/decrypt a flag. They are a fantastic and safe way to get real cybersecurity experience exploiting and securing vulnerable systems and technologies.

This is inside the 'Hobby/Interest' section of the stalls, and not the EAIT section. Keep in mind that this semester's market day will on the Forgan Smith Lawn and not in the Great Court area.
