St John’s Ball ’26 🤩🪩

Truly a night to remember, and an amazing end to an incredible year of events! It was wonderful to see Jabbas and friends from across College Road come together for one of the most memorable occasions on the College calendar.

Kudos to our Social Executive and the Social Committee for putting on such a fantastic night, and well done to our amazing college bands Who is John and Heaven on Earth Band, as well as Headnoise, for keeping the dance floor alive! 🕺🎶

After weeks of competition, our teams have wrapped up their Basketball, Rugby 7s and Rugby Union seasons with some fantastic results 🏀🏉

Congratulations to our Women’s Basketball and Rugby 7s teams, who both took home first place! 🏆Our Men’s Rugby Union finished in third place 🥉, while Men’s Basketball placed fourth. 🤩

We couldn’t be prouder of everyone who represented John’s.

115 years, one unforgettable night. 🤎💛

On Saturday, generations of the John’s community filled the beautiful Brisbane City Hall to celebrate 115 years of friendships, lifelong memories and traditions. There could have been no grander place to do it.

As our Warden, Rose Alwyn, reminded us on the night, what people remember most about College is rarely a building or an event. It’s the people. Looking around a room where some guests’ connection to John’s spans more than half a century, and others’ is only just beginning, that has never felt more true.

Every generation receives St John’s from those who came before, adds something of its own, and hands it on. Here’s to everything that makes John’s what it is today, and everything still to come.

Thank you to everyone who made it such a special night. Once a Johnian, always a Johnian. 🥂

Last week’s Medical and Allied Health Alumni Networking Night connected our students with alumni industry professionals who were once in their shoes, and who generously shared how they got from here to there.

Third-year student Natasha McGlew said:

“It was fantastic to hear from the panel of medical and allied health professionals working across different areas of the healthcare industry, and to learn how each profession was connected through and contributes to the industry.

The evening was a valuable opportunity for all attendees to develop a greater understanding of how careers in healthcare can develop in a multitude of directions, and the meaningful impact these professions have on their communities.”

Thank you to the alumni who attended, and we’re looking forward to tonight’s Business Networking Night!
